আমি একটি অদ্ভুত সমস্যায় পরেছি।আমি প্রায় বছর হবে বিটিসিএল এর এ ডি এস এল ব্যবহার করি।আমি টিপি-লিঙ্ক এর এ ডি এস এল রাউটার দিয়ে আমার লাইন ওয়াই ফাই করে ব্যবহার করতে থাকি এবং তা প্রায় ছয় সাত মাস ভালই চলছিল। কিন্তু কোনো আজীব কারনে আমার রাউটার দিয়ে আমি আর ওয়াই ফাই চালাতে পারতেছিনা।আমি মনে করেছি রাউটার এ সমস্যা কিন্তু না দুই দুই বার আমাকে রাউটার চেঞ্জ করে দিল কাজ করে না।কানেকশন নেয় ঠিকই কিন্তু কোনো ডাটা রিসিভ হয় না কিন্তু ঠিকই সেন্ট দেখায়,আর ব্রাউজার এ অনেক্ষন ওয়েট করে রিট্রাই করতে বলে।তৃতীয় বার যেয়ে একরকম বলা চলে রাউটার এর ইম্পোর্টার (excel tech) এর সাথে ঝগরা করি এবং অবশেষে নতুন রাউটার দেয়।কিন্তু কপাল এতই মন্দ যে এখনও একই সমস্যা।ওয়াইফাই ব্যবহার করতে পারতেছিনা।অনুগ্রহ করে আমাকে একটু সাহায্য করবেন।
There is very keen posibility that some one will come to your end.They have activated means they already connected ADSL in your telephone number and the rest of the setup you’ll have to do yourself.You should go to the EMEM SYS office and buy the modem your self or if you’ve already paid for it then go collect it from them. i applied for the connection and NILKHET exchange phoned me saying that they activated it, but no one came bringing the ADSL modem…it has been 14 days….plz help…

BTCL ADSL is the best internet service and speed I have used so far (from 2000-till 2011). I am using 1 Mbps.
Reading so many complaints I think I am one of the lucky person.
But my opinion is different BTCL ADSL 2 i have best internet experience.
But 2,4 Mbps package must be introduced.
Those higher speeds are not possible with BTCL’s current copper cable network at this moment. Especially when distance between you and your exchange is >2km.
BTCL also can follow the double speed policy of Qubee
(Bideshi company) and Banglalion without increasing the cost.
I mean existing 1 Mbps may be 2 Mbps, and 2 may be 4 Mbps.
Customers will be certainly satisfied.

Your snr is very poor. Check, avoid or remove- joint at drop wire, parallel line or bridge tap, EM interference from power line or electric equipment or source , line noise or cross talk and old house wiring. Hope you will get solution.

I am from Tangail. My local BTCL office said that they have server problem and do not give me new adsl connection at this moment. Is it true? How many days do you need for giving new ADSL connection?
.Please can any1 mention the rate for per/mb leased line internet? i am seriously interested for my office. is it btcl rate (in there website) or low? the website says its 18,000 per/mb but i heard 12000 per/mb per months..

This is very common case for EMEM system, if you carefully read this forum. but thing is that either EMEM system or BTCL authority doesn’t care about it. i dont know why they don’t understand that its a Business, they sell the service we (customer or subscriber) purchased it.
I was using 3 month night postpaid package. My due time was 18.03.11 . I paid on 12.03.11 . But from 20 03.11 my line disconnected. When i call, Mr. Rana inform me they didnnot process the money yet. And i will get the connection within next day. But same problem remain. So i call again. This time he asked two more days. Nothing happen. I repeatedly call next 3 days and talk 2 RANA, SOHEL, MOKHLES, RECIPTIONIST MADAM AND OTHERS. But my problem not solved yet. And they even not update me. Their behavior is like novice and immatured. I m thinking 2 write a complain 2 btcl chairman, MD of emem systems including secretary of information ministry if my connection not active today.

I’m took BTCL phone line in last December & using ADSL connection since January .
My phone no is – 761638 .
The Package I’m using is Bcube Infinity-256 .
The line was great for about 2 weeks & then random disconnection begins , I contacted the Local BTCL office & they even changed the cable like 3 times , checked through their exchange but still I have the same random disconnection problem .
& they send the lineman to check & there was noise in the line & the lineman changed something in in the cabinet as he refereed “vertical change” then the line became noise free & the line was fine a few days
after that I was able to use the net a few days uninterrupted but its back again , so i guess the problem remains .
& the more strange thing is when i took the line my average ping was 181ms on google/yahoo now after the random dc & cable changes & stuff my normal ping is 300ms+ & randomly it goes even higher about 600ms .
I talked about this with the local BTCL office peoples but they seem to be not really understanding the problem .
All they say is we can’t find problem & here I am still getting randomly disconnected .
So I’m posting it here .

It’s so weird. I submitted the cancellation form to cancel my connection from April but BTCL have cancelled my connection today. Why? This is 29th March. The month hasn’t end yet. Why cancelling my connection now? This is ridiculous.
Now I have to live 3 days without internet.
I’m also facing the same problem like Xcross, thats why change my connection number 8360822 to 9345875 but the problem still exists.
Problem : DSL LED restarted every 5/10 mins.
Following the points i check from my end :
1. No Drop Box wire or Phone noise problem, ( though i use only modem in the phone line no phone/fax or PABX)
2. Change 2 different type Modem & ADSL splitter, also change the Drop wire(same result).
3. Distance between Modem & Exchange less then 1Km (Malibagh more to Moghbazar) & Drop box to phone distance approx 50 feet (6mm copper cable).
4. Change the settings in various mode like G.dmt /ADSL2+, though this settings is not relevant for DSL failure.
5. Check the Modem in different connecting Method PPPoE /Bridge ( not relevant for DSL blinking )
6. Check the Modem in Power failure condition (just for ensure that is there any electrical interference)
7. Check the connection status in different time (Morning /evening/night)
8. Check the telephone cabinet box with the help of lineman it seems to clear connectivity.
I also check the same hardware with the same account in my home adsl connection it is working nicely with out single point of interruption.
What is your line stats? It is important to check noise margin. If Noise Margin less than 6 dB, system will be unstable. Same situation will happen if Line loss crosses 50 dB. Please Check….
(1) House wiring system if it is concealed.
(2) Whether the telephone line crosses over Power Line or X-former.
Cable noise problem has been fixed but still adsl led not stable.

2. This is Inside cable so no X-former there or crosses Power line cable.

We already visited your end and found a lot of noise on your phone line.So modem keeps loosing connection to the internet, sometimes every few minutes.Contact who ever is responsible for this. For internet speed and stability Voice line has to be free from noise.

Why ADSL get Slow when the night coming . At most of night i was boar to use of ADSL almost speed low and lost the connection. Adsl beaming and disconnect speed almost 4 to 5 kbps .

Yes, it is done today, but the DSL led not stable its down / breakup every 3/4 minutes, I’m using only the ADSL modem in this Telephone line no noise found but the connection is not stable yet, My Exchange is Moghbazar & the connection near Malibagh more. so please let me know how can i solve this problem.

You can use leased line internate through fiber under corporate package from 2Mbps to Gbps range. We have more than 30 Pop in Dhaka city. You may have any sort of help from any local loop( fiber ) provider in this regard.

Using 1MB connection at mohammadpur. For last 3 days I am not getting speed over 12KBps. Called EMEM and they said everybody at Dhaka is facing the same problem and they have complained to BTCL.
Can we hear something from BTCL ?

Your snr margin is in worst condition. Signal is lost before reaching your modem. Please check customer side and also cable. Hope you will get your solution.

After 2 weeks they informed me that there is no possibility to give a new phone connection in BANK TOWN for “primary cable problem”. Then I discussed with high officials of BTCL, Savar. They gave me the same information “primary cable problem”. Then I asked them when it will be OK. I did not get any clear answer from them. Now I want to say that we are not so little in numbers who want to get new connection in our BANK TOWN. I don’t know exactly from when they totally stopped giving new connection in BANK TOWN but I and some of my friends need phone connections badly right now in our home. Mainly we will use ADSL Broadband. There is no ISP except BTCL who give broadband facility in BANK TOWN.
Now I am begging on behalf of all who need phone connection right now to BTCL concerned people to repair the line as soon as possible after considering our pain so that we can be the users of BTCLs great ADSL Broadband service.

I guess that is the btcl adsl default dns problem. currently they are used:

I also face this type of problem many times. I don’t know why they use these as their default if it have problem. But the real thing is these dns response times are fast then others and its like 20ms.
You can change your dns to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. It will solve your problem. But its response time is around 200ms. I also need DNS which are stable and low response time with low TTL.
We need more professional out sourcing company & skilled technical support, who really sort out the actual problem, by default comments from EMEM system is really disgusting , cable noise,phone & spiller problem, distance issue for example.
they dont maintain any complain log so no body knows who & why complain & whats the problem it is.may be they dont know subscriber actually purchased the service.
Yes, Emem systems always talk like this if someone have noise problem. They most of time just say to check your cable, splitter etc. I know these things are real fact. But i think most of the people are familiar with cable, splitter problem. They put their complain here to get your service not your comment only. BTCL and Emem systems all are just can make a phone call and comment here to say that please check your line. But the thing is if i can do this better than you then why i need to complain you.
I have also noise problem and i put my complain couple of times here. But they just call me and reply to me just saying the cable and splitter problem. I guess, this is not the way to satisfy your customer.

EMEM System’s customer supporters are epic noob. I complained to ESL when I wasn’t getting full speed from 1mbps package.
প্রথমেই আমার DNS জিজ্ঞেস করল। আমি এটার কোনো কারণ বুঝলাম না। DNS এর সাথে Download Speed এর কি সম্পর্ক? DNS যদি ঠিক না থাকে তাহলে তো Download Start-ই হতো না। আমি বললাম আমার DNS এ কোনো Problem নাই। তারপরও আমাকে Check করতে বলল। আমি বললাম DNS দেওয়া আছে 8.8.8.8 এবং 4.2.2.1। এরপরই আরেক কেচাল। ওনারা 4.2.2.1 বলে কিছু চিনেন না। আমাকে অযথা কতক্ষন জিজ্ঞেস করতে থাকল “এই Address আপনাকে কে দিয়েছে? এইটা কেন ব্যবহার করছেন? কে এইটা করতে বলেছে? হেন তেন…”। আরে আজব! আমার Primary DNS হচ্ছে 8.8.8.8। এরপর 4.2.2.1 দিলেও কি না দিলেও কি? আমি ওদের কথামত ভদ্রভাবে Secondary DNS টাকে 8.8.4.4 দিয়ে বললাম Change করেছি তাও Speed বাড়েনি।
এরপর আমাকে সেই ভদ্রমহিলা খুব সুন্দর এক সমাধান দিলেন। সেটা হচ্ছে – আপনার PC বন্ধ করেন। সব LAN Cable গুলো খুলে রাখেন। Splitter এবং Modem থেকে সব Cable খুলে রাখেন। Modem এর Power বন্ধ রাখেন। এভাবে ৩০ মিনিট সারা দুনিয়া বন্ধ রেখে আবার সব চালু করেন।
আমি মনে মনে হাসলাম আর বললাম “এরপর যদি Speed না বাড়ে তাহলে কি করব?” – আবার ফোন করবেন!

Its so sad that 1mbps doesn’t work with my phone connection. It works even on a phone connection 100m away from my house. So distance is not a factor here. Bandwidth charge has already been decreased and I don’t want to stick with 512kbps anymore. I have some local ISP around me providing 1mbps speed. Sadly, I will be switching to them from next month. But I will keep waiting for BTCL’s FTTx connection. Because BTCL is the most reliable connection of all.
Your bcube connection may be having trouble from any or more of the following.
1. Your last mile cu is suffering from high attenuation ie last mile is not compatible for 1000kbps line.
2.Your bcube line picks up noise from surroundings, it may be power source or others.
3. You have a bridge tap in your line.
4. There are problems in CPE.

#1. আমার Line Attenuation হচ্ছে 36/17 এবং SNR হচ্ছে 14/14। আমার মনে হয় না যে Attenuation এ কোনো সমস্যা আছে।
#2. আমার বাসার ভিতরে টেলিফোনের তারের আশে পাশে কোনো Noise Source নেই। তবুও আমি নিশ্চিত হওয়ার জন্য আমার Modem/Laptop সব কিছু Ground Floor এ নিয়ে গেছি। ওখানে Drop Box থেকে সরাসরি যেই Cable-টি এসেছে সেই Cable দিয়ে Connect করে দেখেছি। কোনো লাভ হয় নাই। Drop Box টি আমার বাসা থেকে মাত্র 20ft দূরে।
উল্লেখ্য আমি Drop Wire পরিবর্তন করে দেওয়ার কথা বললে তা পরিবর্তন করে দেওয়া হয় এবং আমাকে বলা হয় যে নতুন Drop Box থেকে Connection দেওয়া হয়েছে।
#3. এই ব্যপারে আমার কোনো ধারনা নেই।
#4. আমার মনে হয় না CPE তে কোনো সমস্যা আছে। কারন আমি এই পর্যন্ত ৩টি Modem দিয়ে চেষ্টা করেছি। কোনো লাভ হয়নি।
আমার যা ধারনা, তাতে আমি মনে করি এই সমস্যাটি Exchange End এর-ই কোনো সমস্যা। অন্য কোথাও সমস্যা থাকলে একমাত্র Primary Cable এই সমস্যা থাকতে পারে।
I was trying to get a BTCL Phone line for adsl internet. I have completed payment (Demand Note amount) and I get it after 8 months. From the first day of connection it was working fine for 8 days and now dead.
My number is 7546865. I used Bcube infinity-512 package and i changed my cable recently. But i have high attenuation(noise) like 60dB and low snr-margin like 7 for down stream in my line.
I posted my problem here in many times and I also put down my complain in Bcube office at Gulshan once. From BTCL I got a phone call 4 weeks ago and they said that someone will come to solve my problem. But no one came to my home yet and no more call also. Now i have too much problem in my line. On average most of the time i got 20-30Kbps as download speed and disconnected problem also there. I paid for 512 but i got 256 now.

It may be due to modem, poor filtering or poor copper cable.
Please check your splitter, modem and drop wire. If everything is fine, then probably you will get more stable connection.
At night there is a 2MB package of bcube (9PM to 9 AM), may be its a reason for night time internet slow, because speed is ok after 9 AM, if the poor quality cable, splitter or modem problem then problem remain unchanged in the day time as well.

BTW, I need a DNS which is stable and having low response time. Because BTCL default DNS 203.112.194.243 sometimes make problem and can’t open some sites eg. http://www.ryanscomputers.com, some .bd domain also. Now I change my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and its worked fine for me. But this address have high response time like 200ms where your default DNS have 20ms. Please give me a DNS address.
Recently, I am receiving spams from a BTCL IP in my site.
These are the type of spammers who sign up in forums (using automated scripts when possible) and spam their site links all over the place.

If you don’t weed out these kind of spammers, soon BTCL IP ranges will be banned from many large international sites just like IP ranges of AirTel (India). That will be really unfortunate.
It has already been declared that the Govt. decreased the bandwidth price & many of the local ISPs also did accordingly. My question for the BTCL is ” when this decreased price of bandwidth will be effective on BTCL?” Will hope for a certain answer on this regard.

I have submitted a problem several days ago and i called on given number but still there is no response from their side. hence i am posting the problem again. You are saying, you were changed your cable. You also say, your line attenuation is 62 dB. attenuation should be less than 50 dB for stability. You may check splitter, also chech whether your line have come beside power line or power transformer. Thanks.

BTCL configured data in their side on 01.02.2011. May be some delay at last mile connectivity side. We should take initiative for this and call a explanation for this delay from respective side.
Its a common scenario in Bandladesh. Lack of internal communication among BTCL Depertments creates that kinda problem. Inside BTCL still some part(departments)/employees has yet to cope up with Digital Environment. Still that parts/employees are with that analog flavor.
I can only hope to see the DIGITAL BANGLADESH VISION 2021 would touched fully to BTCL soon.
I would like to bring your attention on another unsatisfied ADSL subscriber from Gulshan exchange (8856488). Their downstream attenuation is high (63.5 db) and their ADSL link just keeps dropping randomly. Over the year, they have tried swapping 3 modems, re-arranged the cabling several times, tried with/without the splitter, and lastly directly connected the phone line to the modem. Nothing helped.
Apparently, the problem is at your end. So, can we expect your team to troubleshoot this problem accurately and permanently, from your end?

Line attenuation has a vital role in adsl broadband service. It is consider, adsl is stable up to 50dB line attenuation. Beyond that adsl service experiences dropping due to heavy loss. But beyond 60 dB actually no service at all.
Attenuation 63.5dB means you are around 4.5km away from the exchange. Where in Gulshan are you? If it’s that much away from the exchange then BTCL probably has nothing to do about your problem.
Thanks for your comments, Trikal and xCross. Actually, It is Road #68, Gulshan-2. Exactly 3 KM driving (2.5 KM air) distance from Gulshan exchange.
Apart from distance, which seems to be well within the tolerable range, there are other factors (like cable quality, interference, DSLAM ports and exchange equipments) which may affect the attenuation level. So, I think, there are several options open for BTCL to approach this problem.
And still, if we take that 3 KM is really a problem, then EMEM could just reject the ADSL application altogether at the first place. They didn’t do that either.
With due respect, I would also like to express my views, that if there is any real limitation with BTCL, it is the lack of willingness to approach problems, and the true feeling of responsibility, which also implies accountability at every level of the organization. Breaking these limitations without delay will not only help BTCL to maintain their loyal customer base, but also it will prove to be beneficial for their future business, which will most probably get more challenging day by day.
The current structure of BTCL can not provide service as expected by the clients. They should give more emphasis to the Data division by strengthening the department. The prevailing system may be somehow serve the telephonic voice service (where people have other alternative) but nowhere near the standard data service although with the given resource they should have been way forward from the others.

splitters are required for telephones to operate normally when sharing the same line used by ADSL connection. Without splitters often the ADSL will disconnect when a ringing signal comes through, as the spikey nature of the ring cadence disrupts the ADSL.

Do BTCL have any plan to online customer service solution like GP or any other operator? Over phone query to BTCL is till back dated. Frankly speaking I feel un-comfort to call any complain as response from BTCL is very bad. They are reply like robot they don’t care whether caller understand or not. I’m using 512kbps connection and I always wished that I’m going to take 1mbps when the price gets lowered. But sad thing is, 1mbps doesn’t work with my telephone.
But I’m also curious to see BTCL reducing the price and give reliable connection at cheaper rate than anyone else.

If you ask my opinion,then I should say that the current 512kbps infinity package should be now 1000tk and the 1mbps should be 1500taka and the rest accordingly. But the question is when will you apply the new tariff since BTRC notice mention that the new charges are apllicable from January 1st 2011??? So I think you should have applied it from 1st of february but you are saying that you still haven’t calculated then when can we expect the new tariff?? Thanks.
A 33% reduction in bandwidth cost was approved by BTRC.
So 512 KB Unlimited should be 1000 taka and 1 MB Unlimited should be 1500 taka ( excluding VAT).
Also Bcube Premium should be 700 taka and Becube express should be 1200 taka excluding premium.

When we ask the ISPs they say that the pricing of the charge does not only include bandwidth cost; it also includes manpower, equipment, maintenance cost, other overhead costs etc. In that case, cann’t we expect from the ISPs additional bandwidth (this time 33%) for the existing price.

Incoming or outgoing phone calls disconnects randomly after 3 to 5 minutes.
Callers from Bangladesh or from overseas often hear the ring tone but actually the phone does not ring.
ADSL connection goes several different steps like Registration,
Memo creation, Jumpering to the MDF and Physical installation to the client end.
Considering above steps we tell our valuable customer that we may need seven working days to give ADSL connection to the customer. But we always try to complete the process as soon as possible.
I am using bccube512 from 10th January. First few days the connection was good. But last one weak i am getting disconnected in every 10 min and the singnal is too low so that my router is loosing the broadband connection. Sometime i dont get it back in 12 hr. I am using Thomson TG585 as router.

I live in Rayerbag on Kadamtali thana and my number is 7546865. Currently i am using Bcube- infinity 512 package. But I have a problem with very high attenuation (noise) and low snr margin. In my line attenuation is like 60 dB and snr margin 7 dB for downstream. I know these figures are not good for any line. Please help me to tune my line. I don’t know what the process to request my line tuning. BTW, just few days ago I changes my cable wire. So i think the problem is not my end. I called the EMEM Systems for my problem and they give me a number 8362599. But i can’t reach them by trying several time. So please help me guys.
As I instructed from Emem Systems, I rechecked my line and also change my telephone join box to the new one. But still I have low snr margin (7 dB) and high attenuation (60 dB). I heard that some times Btcl also need to tune their line for low noise to their end.
BTW, can you please suggest me which adsl mode is suitable for BTCL line? Currently I am using ‘Huawei SmartAX MT882a’ modem and ‘G.lite’ as adsl mode. Because I saw by using this mode I got comparatively low attenuation.
I live in East Rajabazar, I am thinking of obtaining an ADSL connection, I don’t have a landline at this moment but I plan to apply for one soon, anyone knows how is the quality of ADSL in this area?
Is there any problem going on with your Dhanmondi ONU exchange (8191 series)? Apparently, there’s no PPPoE service offer from today, which most probably indicates that the ONU exchange itself is disconnected from the central network. I tried to check about this with Mr. Shunil but he couldn’t tell anything about it either. Therefore, I am placing my query here.
My connection against 8191111 was activated yesterday, and it was very good for a day. And suddenly, from today my PPP link is down, even though the ADSL link is up and stable at 18m/1m speed. There was no configuration change since then, and I am sure that NO thunderbolt or fire hit my modem within this short period (and thus made it incapable of initiating PPP link).
Anyways, just to make sure, I switched my modem to bridge mode and tried dialing-in directly from PC. It didn’t work either. Dialing attempt freezes for a while and then fails with error code 651. It appears like there is no PPPoE service offer after several attempts and timeouts.
After making sure that there’s no problem from my end, I called EMEM support and tried to explain the situation. I asked for help and explanation. I don’t know why, again and again, the people at EMEM tries to blame the modem instead of hunting down for the actual problem.
I strongly doubt if they have any idea of and access to how the entire service works. While the ADSL service offered by BTCL involves of several equipments and infrastructure elements, it appears like EMEM expertises only in the modem(s) they sell. Then, who do we ask for help when there’s a problem, such as in the exchange, telephone line or IP routing, outside of the modem? Please advise.

As DE, Internet said the problem was due to transmission problem of ONU of your area which we came to know on 12/1/2010 morning. We need FTTH/X Home Broadband service in Mohammadpur area since ADSL service quality is very poor/bad (unusable in some area) in this area. This is because of the old copper wiring of SNB exchange I guess.

There is very keen posibility that some one will come to your end.They have activated means they already connected ADSL in your telephone number and the rest of the setup you’ll have to do yourself.You should go to the EMEM SYS office and buy the modem your self or if you’ve already paid for it then go collect it from them. BTCL ADSL is the best internet service and speed I have used so far (from 2000-till 2011). I am using 1 Mbps.
Reading so many complaints I think I am one of the lucky person.
But my opinion is different BTCL ADSL 2 i have best internet experience.
But 2,4 Mbps package must be introduced.

BTCL also can follow the double speed policy of Qubee
(Bideshi company) and Banglalion without increasing the cost.
I mean existing 1 Mbps may be 2 Mbps, and 2 may be 4 Mbps.

Your snr is very poor. Check, avoid or remove- joint at drop wire, parallel line or bridge tap, EM interference from power line or electric equipment or source , line noise or cross talk and old house wiring. Hope you will get solution.

I was using 3 month night postpaid package. My due time was 18.03.11 . I paid on 12.03.11 . But from 20 03.11 my line disconnected. When i call, Mr. Rana inform me they didnnot process the money yet. And i will get the connection within next day. But same problem remain. So i call again. This time he asked two more days. Nothing happen. I’m took BTCL phone line in last December & using ADSL connection since January .
My phone no is – 761638 .
The Package I’m using is Bcube Infinity-256 .
The line was great for about 2 weeks & then random disconnection begins , I contacted the Local BTCL office & they even changed the cable like 3 times , checked through their exchange but still I have the same random disconnection problem .
& they send the lineman to check & there was noise in the line & the lineman changed something in in the cabinet as he refereed “vertical change” then the line became noise free & the line was fine a few days
after that I was able to use the net a few days uninterrupted but its back again , so i guess the problem remains .
& the more strange thing is when i took the line my average ping was 181ms on google/yahoo now after the random dc & cable changes & stuff my normal ping is 300ms+ & randomly it goes even higher about 600ms .
I talked about this with the local BTCL office peoples but they seem to be not really understanding the problem .
All they say is we can’t find problem & here I am still getting randomly disconnected .
So I’m posting it here .

It’s so weird. I submitted the cancellation form to cancel my connection from April but BTCL have cancelled my connection today. Why? This is 29th March. The month hasn’t end yet. Why cancelling my connection now? This is ridiculous.

I’m also facing the same problem like Xcross, thats why change my connection number 8360822 to 9345875 but the problem still exists.
Problem : DSL LED restarted every 5/10 mins.
Following the points i check from my end :
1. No Drop Box wire or Phone noise problem, ( though i use only modem in the phone line no phone/fax or PABX)
2. Change 2 different type Modem & ADSL splitter, also change the Drop wire(same result).
3. Distance between Modem & Exchange less then 1Km (Malibagh more to Moghbazar) & Drop box to phone distance approx 50 feet (6mm copper cable).
4. Change the settings in various mode like G.dmt /ADSL2+, though this settings is not relevant for DSL failure.
5. Check the Modem in different connecting Method PPPoE /Bridge ( not relevant for DSL blinking )
6. Check the Modem in Power failure condition (just for ensure that is there any electrical interference)
7. Check the connection status in different time (Morning /evening/night)
8. Check the telephone cabinet box with the help of lineman it seems to clear connectivity.
I also check the same hardware with the same account in my home adsl connection it is working nicely with out single point of interruption.

What is your line stats? It is important to check noise margin. If Noise Margin less than 6 dB, system will be unstable. Same situation will happen if Line loss crosses 50 dB. Please Check….
(1) House wiring system if it is concealed.
(2) Whether the telephone line crosses over Power Line or X-former.

You can use leased line internate through fiber under corporate package from 2Mbps to Gbps range. We have more than 30 Pop in Dhaka city. You may have any sort of help from any local loop( fiber ) provider in this regard.

Using 1MB connection at mohammadpur. For last 3 days I am not getting speed over 12KBps. Called EMEM and they said everybody at Dhaka is facing the same problem and they have complained to BTCL.
Can we hear something from BTCL ?

I’ve shifted from 109Central road to Motalib plaza,block-A,9th floor.flat-E906.I’ve submitted transfer fee 500tk+all necessary documents at 26Feb 2011 & got new demand note at 28Feb11. I have applied for telephone shifting and got new demand note with new address on 28th Feb 2011. on 23th Feb the line man came and made connection for my land phone and Said rest of the work will be done from Nilkhet Exchange. But where is my phone connection still not activated I just want to know where is the actual problem?how long will it take to active the connection?My number is- 8650857. I have btcl’s ADSL activated also. I informed the divisional engineer “Jamal Uddin” he said I did my duty now rest of the work depends on exchange. বিগত ১০/১৫ দিন ধরে কুমিল্লা থেকে ডায়াল আপ ইন্টেরনেট এর স্পীড খুব কম পাওয়া যাচ্ছে। আগে ৫০.৬/৫২ কেবিপিএস পাওয়া যেত এখন ১৬ থেকে ২৪ কেবিপিএস এর বেশি পাওয়া যায় না। কারণ কি?

কুমিল্লা তে BCube এর Connection আছে। পারলে সেটাই নিয়ে নেন। অনেক ভাল Speed পাবেন। বর্তমানে ৫০.৬/৫২ কেবিপিএস-ও অনেক কম Speed।

I’m ATIQ from Bank Town, Savar, Dhaka. I applied for a BTCL land phone Connection for using ADSL Broadband in January 2011. After 2 weeks they informed me that there is no possibility to give a new phone connection in BANK TOWN for “primary cable problem”. Then I discussed with high officials of BTCL, Savar. They gave me the same information “primary cable problem”. Then I asked them when it will be OK. I did not get any clear answer from them. Now I want to say that we are not so little in numbers who want to get new connection in our BANK TOWN. I don’t know exactly from when they totally stopped giving new connection in BANK TOWN but I and some of my friends need phone connections badly right now in our home. Mainly we will use ADSL Broadband. There is no ISP except BTCL who give broadband facility in BANK TOWN.
Now I am begging on behalf of all who need phone connection right now to BTCL concerned people to repair the line as soon as possible after considering our pain so that we can be the users of BTCLs great ADSL Broadband service.
Please give me reply very soon because it is urgent.

I guess that is the btcl adsl default dns problem. currently they are used:
203.112.194.243
203.112.194.15
I also face this type of problem many times. I don’t know why they use these as their default if it have problem. But the real thing is these dns response times are fast then others and its like 20ms.
You can change your dns to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. It will solve your problem. But its response time is around 200ms. I also need DNS which are stable and low response time with low TTL.

We need more professional out sourcing company & skilled technical support, who really sort out the actual problem, by default comments from EMEM system is really disgusting , cable noise,phone & spiller problem, distance issue for example.
they dont maintain any complain log so no body knows who & why complain & whats the problem it is.may be they dont know subscriber actually purchased the service.

Yes, Emem systems always talk like this if someone have noise problem. They most of time just say to check your cable, splitter etc. I know these things are real fact. But i think most of the people are familiar with cable, splitter problem. They put their complain here to get your service not your comment only. BTCL and Emem systems all are just can make a phone call and comment here to say that please check your line. But the thing is if i can do this better than you then why i need to complain you.
I have also noise problem and i put my complain couple of times here. But they just call me and reply to me just saying the cable and splitter problem. I guess, this is not the way to satisfy your customer.
Please try to understand. We are purchased service from you.

EMEM System’s customer supporters are epic noob. I complained to ESL when I wasn’t getting full speed from 1mbps package.
প্রথমেই আমার DNS জিজ্ঞেস করল। আমি এটার কোনো কারণ বুঝলাম না। DNS এর সাথে Download Speed এর কি সম্পর্ক? DNS যদি ঠিক না থাকে তাহলে তো Download Start-ই হতো না। আমি বললাম আমার DNS এ কোনো Problem নাই। তারপরও আমাকে Check করতে বলল। আমি বললাম DNS দেওয়া আছে 8.8.8.8 এবং 4.2.2.1। এরপরই আরেক কেচাল। ওনারা 4.2.2.1 বলে কিছু চিনেন না। আমাকে অযথা কতক্ষন জিজ্ঞেস করতে থাকল “এই Address আপনাকে কে দিয়েছে? এইটা কেন ব্যবহার করছেন? কে এইটা করতে বলেছে? হেন তেন…”। আরে আজব! আমার Primary DNS হচ্ছে 8.8.8.8। এরপর 4.2.2.1 দিলেও কি না দিলেও কি? আমি ওদের কথামত ভদ্রভাবে Secondary DNS টাকে 8.8.4.4 দিয়ে বললাম Change করেছি তাও Speed বাড়েনি।
এরপর আমাকে সেই ভদ্রমহিলা খুব সুন্দর এক সমাধান দিলেন। সেটা হচ্ছে – আপনার PC বন্ধ করেন। সব LAN Cable গুলো খুলে রাখেন। Splitter এবং Modem থেকে সব Cable খুলে রাখেন। Modem এর Power বন্ধ রাখেন। এভাবে ৩০ মিনিট সারা দুনিয়া বন্ধ রেখে আবার সব চালু করেন।
আমি মনে মনে হাসলাম আর বললাম “এরপর যদি Speed না বাড়ে তাহলে কি করব?” – আবার ফোন করবেন!

Its so sad that 1mbps doesn’t work with my phone connection. It works even on a phone connection 100m away from my house. So distance is not a factor here. Bandwidth charge has already been decreased and I don’t want to stick with 512kbps anymore. I have some local ISP around me providing 1mbps speed. Sadly, I will be switching to them from next month. But I will keep waiting for BTCL’s FTTx connection. Because BTCL is the most reliable connection of all.

Your bcube connection may be having trouble from any or more of the following.
1. Your last mile cu is suffering from high attenuation ie last mile is not compatible for 1000kbps line.
2.Your bcube line picks up noise from surroundings, it may be power source or others.
3. You have a bridge tap in your line.
4. There are problems in CPE.

#1. আমার Line Attenuation হচ্ছে 36/17 এবং SNR হচ্ছে 14/14। আমার মনে হয় না যে Attenuation এ কোনো সমস্যা আছে।
#2. আমার বাসার ভিতরে টেলিফোনের তারের আশে পাশে কোনো Noise Source নেই। তবুও আমি নিশ্চিত হওয়ার জন্য আমার Modem/Laptop সব কিছু Ground Floor এ নিয়ে গেছি। ওখানে Drop Box থেকে সরাসরি যেই Cable-টি এসেছে সেই Cable দিয়ে Connect করে দেখেছি। কোনো লাভ হয় নাই। Drop Box টি আমার বাসা থেকে মাত্র 20ft দূরে।
উল্লেখ্য আমি Drop Wire পরিবর্তন করে দেওয়ার কথা বললে তা পরিবর্তন করে দেওয়া হয় এবং আমাকে বলা হয় যে নতুন Drop Box থেকে Connection দেওয়া হয়েছে।
#3. এই ব্যপারে আমার কোনো ধারনা নেই।
#4. আমার মনে হয় না CPE তে কোনো সমস্যা আছে। কারন আমি এই পর্যন্ত ৩টি Modem দিয়ে চেষ্টা করেছি। কোনো লাভ হয়নি।
আমার যা ধারনা, তাতে আমি মনে করি এই সমস্যাটি Exchange End এর-ই কোনো সমস্যা। অন্য কোথাও সমস্যা থাকলে একমাত্র Primary Cable এই সমস্যা থাকতে পারে।

I was trying to get a BTCL Phone line for adsl internet. I have completed payment (Demand Note amount) and I get it after 8 months. From the first day of connection it was working fine for 8 days and now dead.
I hope it will fix again after 8 days.

My number is 7546865. I used Bcube infinity-512 package and i changed my cable recently. But i have high attenuation(noise) like 60dB and low snr-margin like 7 for down stream in my line.
I posted my problem here in many times and I also put down my complain in Bcube office at Gulshan once. From BTCL I got a phone call 4 weeks ago and they said that someone will come to solve my problem. But no one came to my home yet and no more call also. Now i have too much problem in my line. On average most of the time i got 20-30Kbps as download speed and disconnected problem also there. I paid for 512 but i got 256 now.

It may be due to modem, poor filtering or poor copper cable.
Please check your splitter, modem and drop wire. If everything is fine, then probably you will get more stable connection.

At night there is a 2MB package of bcube (9PM to 9 AM), may be its a reason for night time internet slow, because speed is ok after 9 AM, if the poor quality cable, splitter or modem problem then problem remain unchanged in the day time as well.

I know my attenuation is too high, but i want the solution not only your comment. I have a splitter which i got with modem and i change my copper cable just 1 month ago.
BTW, can you tell me what happen at night? Where your bandwidths are gone? Also the connection is not stable at night.

BTW, I need a DNS which is stable and having low response time. Because BTCL default DNS 203.112.194.243 sometimes make problem and can’t open some sites eg. http://www.ryanscomputers.com, some .bd domain also. Now I change my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and its worked fine for me. But this address have high response time like 200ms where your default DNS have 20ms. Please give me a DNS address.

These are the type of spammers who sign up in forums (using automated scripts when possible) and spam their site links all over the place.

I have submitted a problem several days ago and i called on given number but still there is no response from their side. hence i am posting the problem again. You are saying, you were changed your cable. You also say, your line attenuation is 62 dB. attenuation should be less than 50 dB for stability. You may check splitter, also chech whether your line have come beside power line or power transformer. Thanks.

Its a common scenario in Bandladesh. Lack of internal communication among BTCL Depertments creates that kinda problem. Inside BTCL still some part(departments)/employees has yet to cope up with Digital Environment. Still that parts/employees are with that analog flavor.
I can only hope to see the DIGITAL BANGLADESH VISION 2021 would touched fully to BTCL soon.

I would like to bring your attention on another unsatisfied ADSL subscriber from Gulshan exchange (8856488). Their downstream attenuation is high (63.5 db) and their ADSL link just keeps dropping randomly. Over the year, they have tried swapping 3 modems, re-arranged the cabling several times, tried with/without the splitter, and lastly directly connected the phone line to the modem. Nothing helped.
Apparently, the problem is at your end. So, can we expect your team to troubleshoot this problem accurately and permanently, from your end?

Line attenuation has a vital role in adsl broadband service. It is consider, adsl is stable up to 50dB line attenuation. Beyond that adsl service experiences dropping due to heavy loss. But beyond 60 dB actually no service at all.

Attenuation 63.5dB means you are around 4.5km away from the exchange. Where in Gulshan are you? If it’s that much away from the exchange then BTCL probably has nothing to do about your problem.

Thanks for your comments, Trikal and xCross. Actually, It is Road #68, Gulshan-2. Exactly 3 KM driving (2.5 KM air) distance from Gulshan exchange.
Apart from distance, which seems to be well within the tolerable range, there are other factors (like cable quality, interference, DSLAM ports and exchange equipments) which may affect the attenuation level. So, I think, there are several options open for BTCL to approach this problem.
And still, if we take that 3 KM is really a problem, then EMEM could just reject the ADSL application altogether at the first place. They didn’t do that either.
With due respect, I would also like to express my views, that if there is any real limitation with BTCL, it is the lack of willingness to approach problems, and the true feeling of responsibility, which also implies accountability at every level of the organization. Breaking these limitations without delay will not only help BTCL to maintain their loyal customer base, but also it will prove to be beneficial for their future business, which will most probably get more challenging day by day.

৬৮ নং Road তো অনেক দূর। টেলিফোনের তার তো আবার Shortest Route দিয়ে যাচ্চে না। অনেক দিক ঘুরেও যেতে পারে। তাই কমপক্ষে 4km ধরে নিতে হবে।
আমার মনে হয় না আপনি আপনার এলাকায় ADSL ঠিকমত ব্যবহার করতে পারবেন।

The current structure of BTCL can not provide service as expected by the clients. They should give more emphasis to the Data division by strengthening the department. The prevailing system may be somehow serve the telephonic voice service (where people have other alternative) but nowhere near the standard data service although with the given resource they should have been way forward from the others.

splitters are required for telephones to operate normally when sharing the same line used by ADSL connection. Without splitters often the ADSL will disconnect when a ringing signal comes through, as the spikey nature of the ring cadence disrupts the ADSL.

Do BTCL have any plan to online customer service solution like GP or any other operator? Over phone query to BTCL is till back dated. Frankly speaking I feel un-comfort to call any complain as response from BTCL is very bad. They are reply like robot they don’t care whether caller understand or not. Some times during hear their voice it seems they are very busy & may be way to catch their flight or train so too hurry to response or solution.

I’m using 512kbps connection and I always wished that I’m going to take 1mbps when the price gets lowered. But sad thing is, 1mbps doesn’t work with my telephone.
But I’m also curious to see BTCL reducing the price and give reliable connection at cheaper rate than anyone else.

If you ask my opinion,then I should say that the current 512kbps infinity package should be now 1000tk and the 1mbps should be 1500taka and the rest accordingly. But the question is when will you apply the new tariff since BTRC notice mention that the new charges are apllicable from January 1st 2011??? So I think you should have applied it from 1st of february but you are saying that you still haven’t calculated then when can we expect the new tariff?? Thanks.

A 33% reduction in bandwidth cost was approved by BTRC.
So 512 KB Unlimited should be 1000 taka and 1 MB Unlimited should be 1500 taka ( excluding VAT).
Also Bcube Premium should be 700 taka and Becube express should be 1200 taka excluding premium.

Really good news for internet users. When we ask the ISPs they say that the pricing of the charge does not only include bandwidth cost; it also includes manpower, equipment, maintenance cost, other overhead costs etc. In that case, cann’t we expect from the ISPs additional bandwidth (this time 33%) for the existing price.

Memo creation, Jumpering to the MDF and Physical installation to the client end.
Considering above steps we tell our valuable customer that we may need seven working days to give ADSL connection to the customer. But we always try to complete the process as soon as possible.

I live in Rayerbag on Kadamtali thana and my number is 7546865. Currently i am using Bcube- infinity 512 package. But I have a problem with very high attenuation (noise) and low snr margin. In my line attenuation is like 60 dB and snr margin 7 dB for downstream. I know these figures are not good for any line. Please help me to tune my line. I don’t know what the process to request my line tuning. BTW, just few days ago I changes my cable wire. So i think the problem is not my end. I called the EMEM Systems for my problem and they give me a number 8362599. But i can’t reach them by trying several time. So please help me guys.

As I instructed from Emem Systems, I rechecked my line and also change my telephone join box to the new one. But still I have low snr margin (7 dB) and high attenuation (60 dB). I heard that some times Btcl also need to tune their line for low noise to their end.
BTW, can you please suggest me which adsl mode is suitable for BTCL line? Currently I am using ‘Huawei SmartAX MT882a’ modem and ‘G.lite’ as adsl mode. Because I saw by using this mode I got comparatively low attenuation.

Is there any problem going on with your Dhanmondi ONU exchange (8191 series)? Apparently, there’s no PPPoE service offer from today, which most probably indicates that the ONU exchange itself is disconnected from the central network. I tried to check about this with Mr. Shunil but he couldn’t tell anything about it either. Therefore, I am placing my query here.
My connection against 8191111 was activated yesterday, and it was very good for a day. And suddenly, from today my PPP link is down, even though the ADSL link is up and stable at 18m/1m speed. There was no configuration change since then, and I am sure that NO thunderbolt or fire hit my modem within this short period (and thus made it incapable of initiating PPP link).
Anyways, just to make sure, I switched my modem to bridge mode and tried dialing-in directly from PC. It didn’t work either. Dialing attempt freezes for a while and then fails with error code 651. It appears like there is no PPPoE service offer after several attempts and timeouts.
After making sure that there’s no problem from my end, I called EMEM support and tried to explain the situation. I asked for help and explanation. I don’t know why, again and again, the people at EMEM tries to blame the modem instead of hunting down for the actual problem.
I strongly doubt if they have any idea of and access to how the entire service works. While the ADSL service offered by BTCL involves of several equipments and infrastructure elements, it appears like EMEM expertises only in the modem(s) they sell. Then, who do we ask for help when there’s a problem, such as in the exchange, telephone line or IP routing, outside of the modem? Please advise.

We need FTTH/X Home Broadband service in Mohammadpur area since ADSL service quality is very poor/bad (unusable in some area) in this area. This is because of the old copper wiring of SNB exchange I guess.

Is internet unstable for last three days?
connection is dropping every second.
EMEM system is also not picking up the phone.
