গত ৩ দিন যাবত গুলশান , মগবাজার আর এমএম সিস্টেম কে জানিয়েও আমার ইন্টারনেট সচল হই নি , আজকে গুলশান exchange এর DE জানালেন আজকের মধ্যে লাইন ঠিক হযে যাবে কিন্তু হই নাই , ADSL connection অফ করা আছে মগবাজার অফিস থেকে ,বিল দেবার পর টেলিফোনে সংযোগ চালু হলেও ইন্টারনেট গত ১ সপ্তাহেও চালু হই নি , আমার প্রশ্ন হচ্ছে টেলিফোনে সংযোগ যখন বন্ধ করা হযেছিল তখন কি জানতেন না যে এতে ইন্টারনেট ও আছে , আবার মগবাজার অফিস থেকে বলছে গুলশান exchange থেকে মেমো না পাঠালে ইন্টারনেট চালু করা যাবে না ,গুলশান অফিস এ গেলে বলে মগবাজার অফিস এ যোগাযোগ করেন , আর EMEM সিস্টেম বলেছিল আজকে ১২ টার মধ্যে ঠিক হযে যাবে ,অবশ্য এটা রাত বারোটা কিনা জানি না, geting update from them literally difficult . মগবাজার অফিস থেকে এই ref নাম্বার টা দিল : P6/TD.NP/ADSL/2010-2011 8/5/11

My ADSL account has been disable from the Moghbazar exchange due to delayed bill payment (may be), my telephone is ok now but ADSL still not, moghbazar ADSL division informed me that they got a advice for disable this account from Gulshan exchange & with out getting further notice they unable to activate it again, after that gulshan exchange said : they have nothing to do this is depends on Moghbazar exchange. I also inform that to EMEM system and they said this is a vertical problem because they are not getting any signal from MDF (frustrated response) and from Gulshan MDF (Mr.Lokman) said : that connection from MDF is completely ok, and i think he is right because my phone is ok.So please let me know where is the solution for this issue, at least i expect minimum customer service.
I have been using BTCL 1000 since last July. Although I had some problem with connection and still am, I never faced any problem with billing. This April, my bill was 3600+. And for the month of May, it has gone up to 13000+. The bills were charged for internet usage. I do not stay home for at least 15 days in a month and my father, mother or wife do not even use the computer. So what happened?? How did I over shot my 25GB download limit when I have not even downloaded 10 GB…..

Internet BW rate Tk12000/- per Mbps per month. ADSL rate only Tk2200/- per Mbps per month (Unlimited) ; Less than one fifth. No contention, No sharing, No fair uses policy. But BTCL is trying to reduce the rate again. Very soon everybody will get the news. Thanks.

I cab’t understand this. If adsl is not full duplex, how does data transmit over it ? ADSL is asymmetric. Wimax is not next generation. LTE is future network. ADSL is more advance than Wimax. But Wimax has mobility.
ADSL2+ (ITU G.992.5) is full duplex.
Full duplex merely defines whether the technology can send and receive data at the same time, it has nothing to do with the number of wires. ADSL splits the line bandwidth into 2 separate copper cable. ADSL allows transmission in both directions simultaneously via the use of different frequency ranges. It is, by definition, full duplex. Though many people think that 2 wire cable is half duplex….
Basically in ADSL2+, half duplex or full duplex could depend on internet service provider (BTCL), half duplex can be received on a full duplex system . No doubt.

আমার মনে হয় না যে BTCL এর ওপর কোনো ধরনের Bandwidth এর চাপ পরবে। কারণ BTCL-ই তো বাংলাদেশ এর Bandwidth এর উৎস। Bandwidth এর টান লাগার কোনো কারণ নাই BTCL এর।

BTCL does obtain its own DNS automatically but that “phone book” is not good enough. That’s why we use google’s DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) as preferred DNS and alternative DNS.
There are many public DNS service available. You can also try 4.2.2.1

currently i am using qubee. their performance has decreased last couple of week. thats why i wanted change to ADSL line. as i heard the bandwidth is quite good.
It depends. I have seen a lot of connections (including mine’s) getting frequent disconnection during the rain.
But I guess most of them doesn’t have any problem during rain.
I am telling my story. Recently I have taken one BTCL telephone connection .It proceeds very fast within 20 days or less .You deposit money in the SIBL bank 2000 TK.
No extra cost.

Is there any difference between two modems for snr margin and noise? Can you please check it? I am using Huwawei modem and in that modem properties it showed my noise is too high. I am thinking that maybe its vary on different modem.
Problem with LIVE VIDEO STREAMING WITH BTCL ADSL 2+
1 Mbps connection, Live HD video STREAMING is not possible with 1 Mb package.I am asking the reason from BTCL(9356730).
BTCL is best but HD video streaming is not possible.
It totally depends on the bit rate.
1080p streams that are available on youtube are typically around 4-5mbps. So it is not possible to watch them live with 1mbps.

1. Is the btcl connection we use a full duplex connection ? If not, what is the reason behind it ?
2. I contacted wimax providers, their connections are not full duplex too. Upload speed is one fourth of download speed. I tried to know the reason but they do not tell the actual reason. They just say they do not provide full duplex connection. Could you please let us know what is the mystery behind this hide and seek situation ?
According to BTCL’s terms of service, they give 25% of the download speed as upload speed.
But in reality, they give 50% of the download speed as upload speed.
I don’t know the exact reason for this. But as far as I know VOIP needs full duplex connection. Maybe BTCL is not giving same download and upload speed for this reason.

My btcl connection is being hampered for the last several days. 3 days back the connection wasnt there for 12 hours then the next day it was like internet was available for 2 hours then it went offline for 4 hours. And currently the internet is not there for the last 15 hours. The funniest thing is the adsl link is there no blinking but the connection isn’t. When i dial using the ppoe dialler it says connecting to wan miniport and then stayed there and this applies for the last several days. If the adsl link is there why cant i connect? I am from Shere Bangla Nagar Exchange btw.
Same problem here. I called EmEm in the morning. They told BTCL is working on their server and it will be okay by evening. But it is 7:40pm the line is not yet up.
Positive thinking They are doubling up the bandwidth so they are taking bit of time more !!

I was getting very good internet connection from BTCL. Therefore I suggested my cousin to take BTCL broadband connection who was looking for a better internet connection.
On April he bought a ADSL Modem + Router (TP Link TD W8950ND) from IDB Bhaban with BDT.3300.00. On 1st May he got call from Emem Systems. They notified that his connection is on. But, unfortunately there was no internet connectivity. He notified them and their engineer visited his place and checked wires, connection and so on. Later they told him that the connection can not be given in his house as the frequency is very low. At this circumstance they suggested him to cancel the connection. So on May 29th he canceled the connection. He invested a total of BDT.3700(modem+connection cost) and they are not going to refund it. Not only this he will be charged with two months bill, that is BDT.2070.00. At this circumstances it will be very great if any of you feel interested to buy the modem. He is ready to sell the modem at BDT.3000.00 with one year warranty. Interested persons please e-mail me at asif_8332@yahoo.com.

I really feel sorry for him. I had to spend around 16,000tk when I first took my connection back in 2009. I would have died if something like that happened to me.

I would like to request Emem systems through you that they should wave the charge of 600tk for checking line condition and setup. Here I would like to compare Emem systems with Qubee and Banglalion wimax. Qubee and Banglalion dont take any installation charge. Even they do the frequency test for free of cost. And what I feel after talking to them face to face is, they do have very little tachnical knowledge.
I also would like to request Emem systems through you to keep a range of modems from where we can choose our desired one. We bought TP Link modem because that also do have Router facility, by which he can use the facility of Wifi within the house. There are a number of ADSL modems in the market, and it is mentionable that Huawei modem is the worst quality modem of the market. And it is tested. I know several persons including me who used Huwei modem first and then changed to TP Link TDW8950ND modem.
First of all your router “TP Link TD W8950ND” is an aftermarket adsl router not a router provided by btcl/emem systems therefore u cannot claim here that they will make a refund on a product that is surely not theirs.

My Huawei modem has gone out of order. This noon I bought a Belkin wireless modem router at a cost of 6700 taka.
I could not make the ADSL stable. I ran back to the shop, they also could not make it. They gave me another piece, they tested it before giving. Everything was fine.
I came back to my office AGAIN I could not make ADSL stable.
I managed another Huawei modem from a friend, this one works perfect.
The belkin modem does not work at my office but it works in the shop at IDB. What can be the reason ?
Belkin modem is also good one. Your SNR is very poor. Check the following:
(1) Parallel line connection at line. ( Don’t allow)
(2)EM interference coming from surroundings. (Remove it)
(3) Joints at the drop wire. ( Replace it with help of local exchange)
(4) Last mile cable condition. ( Replace it with help of local exchange).

If you have got connection through EmEm, just drop a complain to them. We send it to them and local exchange also.. If you got connection through local exchange , inform your problem to local DE. No financial aspect/subscription is involved in this process. Please think it easy. Thanks.

I am from Mirpur and I am using BTCL 256 unlimited pakage. Currently I feeling some problem with my connection. I feel that my uploading and browsing speed has fallen at a significant rate. But, the speed is to good during downloading.
I have same problem too during some days. My phone number is 7546865 and i am using 512 package. Most of the time usually at night my speed go up and down to 12-20KBps, but during downloading by using any download manager, i get good speed. Even i cant stream any video also. Please help us asap.

ekhane obostha ta emon je user beshi howae raat e je pare jor kore usual speed dhore rakhe. Btcl should limit the connection per server or increase bandwidth to the server.

Those who are using 1MB line can get min of 2.5MB at the same price. I mean btcl has to at least double the bandwidth, after all it has to compete with private ISPs.
If BTCL’s bandwidth price is not below half of other ISPs people may not like to stay with BTCL since customer service of BTCL/EMEM is no way up to standard to attract.

My BTCL ADSL connection is cancelled from March 28, 2011.
I just received the bill of April, 2011 and it included the ADSL charges of 1500tk. I have not used ADSL in April, 2011.
What should I do now? I may also be charged 1500tk on May, 2011.

I called EMEM Banani and Karwan Bazar numbers but nobody received. I need a piece of information to know if BTCL connection is okay. If I can know that line is okay then I can start finding problems at my end.

I called these numbers several times but nobody receives.
Before I get my internet line troubleshooted I like you to troubleshoot the customer care first which is a very basic problem in our country.
Please let all of us know where and who to contact and why nobody receives those phones.
BTCL এর স্থানীয় ক্যাম্পগুলো কাস্টমার কেয়ারের কাজ করছে আপাতত। তবে এগুলো ২৪ ঘন্টা খোলা থাকে না। আর ক্যাবলএর কাজ রাত্রে করাও সহজ নয়। এমেম সিস্টেমস বা আরো যারা ভবিষ্যতে আউটসোর্সিং পার্টনার হিসেবে আসবেন, তারা ২৪/৭ সাপোর্টের বিষয়টি নিয়ে ভাবতে পারেন।
There is no reason to contact them directly because BTCL directors do visit this site and they are aware of the fact that they have to reduce the price. So contacting them on email is not going to change anything.
And BTCL has plans to reduce the price. But they are not doing it right now because they think this is not the right time to reduce the price.

First of all Huawei (MT882a) is not a good quality modem in any sense, 1. its not a stand alone modem, i mean the performance of a Modem + Router is poor, as a modem its ok.
2.sometimes takes too long time to negotiate with the DSLAM & CPE, which is exception in Dlink,Netgear,Levelone,Zyzel etc modem.i think ,it is better to buy other modem which is available in the market in same price or less.

আপনার কথা ১০০ % সত্য , ঢাকার ব্যবহারকারীদের ও একই প্রবলেম শুনতে হই, সুতরাং এটার কোনো সদুত্তর আমি দিতে পারব না কিন্তু সত্যিকার অর্থে client end এ কাবলে প্রবলেম আর দূরত্বের বাপার ছাড়া আমি তেমন কিছুই দেখি না , আর কাবলে এর প্রবলেম থাকলে আপনে নিজেই দেখতে পারবেন , কিভাবে :
১. telephone এ কোনো noise আছে কিনা কানে দিয়া দেখেন , যদি না থাকে তাহলে আপনার কাবলে কোনো প্রবলেম নেই ,
২. যদি বার বার DSL বাতি অফ হযে যাই তাহলে দেখেন কাবলে কোনো জায়গায় জোড়া আছে কিনা, cable কোনো AC অথবা high voltage transformer এর পাশে দিয়া গেছে কিনা আপনার ফোন থেকে exchange এর দুরত্ব ৩/৪ কিলোমিটার এর বেশি হলেও এরকম প্রবলেম হতে পারে , এইসব বিষয় গুলো BTCL এর প্রকৌশলীগন আরো ভালো ভাবে বলতে পারবেন , after proper inspection

Low attenuation means loss of signal at line is less. High snr means your signal is good enough with respect to noise. May be less noise and less distortion in line.
When you have plan to reduce charges? Please give your answer. I think if BTCL doesn’t reduce their price from the next month, maybe they will lost some users. Please do not take more delay. We are all waiting to hear good news.
Have you any plan to update your ADSL infrastructure? I think Bcube used ADSL technology and they need to upgrade their technology to ADSL2 or ADSL2+ for better service. Am I right?
Its seem to me BTCL use ADSL2.

Also I must mention that, difference between ADSL2+ and wimax technology is very big. As mobile technology is wimax and ADSL2+ is the real broadband. And we can think back about Mobile companies, they used to give unlimited broadband, but they don’t provide it any more, bcz now a days they have set fair usage policy or 5GB. Your line is suffering from any one or more of the followings.
1. There is/are bare joint/joints in drop wire.
2.Splitter is faulty.
3.There is/are parallel line beyond splitter.
4.Cable is noisy or faulty.
5. There is EMI effect, comes from nearest Electric source or power transformer.

You need to fill up the migration form and submit it within 20th of the month. You connection will be migrated on the next month. For upgrading bandwidth, you won’t have to pay any charge. But you will have to pay some charge if you downgrade the bandwidth.
And BCube’s 512kbps limited package (1000tk) is much better than Banglalion’s unlimited package. Because Banglalion would disconnect your internet if you download something for 4hours.
And we have to wait patiently until BTCL reduces the bandwidth charge.
I having severe problem with connection drop almost at unusable state. How to avoid EMI? My neighbor just installed electric transformer (new requirement by Desco/Desa for new buildings). Could that interfere?

60dB Attenuation is too high. And if I know properly, it depends on the distance to the exchange. Here are some information regarding distance/attenuation:
So check the distance between you and your exchange. If it is somewhere >3.5km then you theoretically don’t have the capability to achieve maximum speed.
Are you sure , your local loop is capable enough to transmit 1Mbps line? Are you sure there is no bridge tap in last mile? Are you sure there is no EMI in last mile or customer premises? I am sure BTCL never make fun with customer. If your line is fine, you should get actual speed. We keep your problem under observation. Thanks.

I don’t think I can continue to use your ADSL service any more with so many variables affecting the service quality, despite investing quite a bit (money, time and labour) on ADSL hardware and land-line connection.
From 2 days I cannot login/connect. When try to login, a message appears “Connecting through WAN miniport (PPPOE). Error 678: The remote computer didnot respond.”
If you have your modem connected to your PC then go your modem settings (192.168.2.1) and search. I don’t remember where that is. There should be a chart where you will find a lot of ADSL statistics including SnR, Attenuation etc.
How could u sure that the IP of modem is 192.168.2.1
It may be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 or anything, depending of default settings of different vendors.

I have been using bcube for the last 18 months. My UTSTARCOM is malfunctioning for the last couple of days. So i bought a TP-link ADSL2+ Modem Router W8950ND. I entered the following information in the quick setup. but it is not working.

I’m keeping the username and password blank as i never needed them to connect using my previous modem. Can anyone tell me how i can activate my new modem?

খুব শীঘ্রই তারা ৩ এমবিপিএস পর্যন্ত লাইন দিতে যাচ্ছে। আর ২৫৬ কেবিপিএস এর নিচে কোনো লাইন থাকবে না। ৫০০ টাকাতেই ২৫৬ কেবিপিএস আর ২ হাজার টাকার মধ্যেই ২ এমবিপিএস পাওয়া যাবে বলে ধারণা করা যাচ্ছে। তবে এটা আপনি কোন রিসেলারের কাছ থেকে লাইন নিবেন তার উপর নির্ভর করছে। আর হ্যা সব প্যাকেজই আগের মতোই আনলিমিটেড।
আর পুরো ব্রডব্যান্ড ব্যবসাই হঠাত করে ভয়ানক করে চাপে পড়ে গেছে। কেননা সাম্প্রতিক কালে কিউবি এবং বাংলালায়ন উভয়েরই নেটওয়ার্ক অনেক ভালো হয়ে গেছে এবং গতিও বেড়ে গেছে

Qubee is limiting speed (Fair Usage Policy) after increasing bandwidth and thus many people can not download with full speed. I have seen a few Qubee users willing to switch to BTCL (as BTCL does not have any rules like this) after BTCL reduces their price. I think BTCL should not take any more time to reduce the prices.
when BTCL gonna reduce their ADSL charge? Bandwidth charge has been reduced to 12000 tk from 18000 tk. So their should be a consideration on reducing the internet charge! when we will gonna get it??

বিটিসিএলের গ্রাহকগণ অনেক সময় অভিযোগ করেন যে তারা সময়মত টেলিফোন বিল পান না। বাংলাদেশ এর মত ঘনবসতি পূর্ণ দেশে ডাক/কুরিয়ার অথবা লোক মারফত ফোন গ্রাহকদের হাতে বিল পৌঁছান শতভাগ নিশ্চিত করা সত্যিই একটি চ্যালেঞ্জ, আর বিটিসিএলের মত সরকারি প্রতিষ্ঠানের জন্য তো তা আরও বড় চ্যালেঞ্জ। এখানে প্রতিষ্ঠান হিসেবে বিটিসিএলের যেমন ঘাটতি আছে তেমনি আছে গ্রাহকদের সচেতনতা ও প্রযুক্তি মনস্কতার অভাব। নাহলে বিটিসিএলের ওয়েব সাইট থেকে ফোন বিল নামানোর সুযোগ থাকা স্বত্তেও এটি করছেন ক’জনা ?
এ’ব্যাপারে একটি বিকল্প বিটিসিএল ভেবে দেখতে পারে,
• বিল পেমেন্ট করতে গ্রাহক কে তো ব্যাংক এ যেতেই হয়। তো ব্যাংক থেকেই বিল প্রিন্ট করে গ্রাহক তা পেমেন্ট করে নিজের কপিটি নিয়ে নেবেন। গ্রাহক কে এ সুবিধা দেয়ার জন্য বিটিসিএলের পক্ষ থেকে ব্যাংক গুলোকে নির্দেশনা দেয়া থাকবে।
• বিটিসিএল এর কাজ হবে সব গ্রাহক কে জানিয়ে দেয়া যে মাসের ৭ থেকে ১২ তারিখের মধ্যে গ্রাহককে প্রয়োজনে ব্যাংক থেকে বিলের প্রিন্ট নিয়ে পেমেন্ট করতে হবে। তাহলে গ্রাহকের বিল না পাওয়ার অজুহাতে বিটিসিএলের রাজস্ব ও অনাদায়ী থাকবে না। এ’টিও অবশ্য গ্রাহকের সচেতনতার উপর নির্ভরশীল। তবে গ্রাহকের উপর আস্থা রেখে তাকে সচেতন করে তলার দায়িত্ব তো কাউকে নিতেই হবে।
I have been using bcube premium for more than years and last month(March) I terminated the connection for frequent disconnection problem. Then I applied again for a new connection at the beginning of month april with the same phone line. When I called emem systems they said line Jumpering has been done at 20th april but I still find my adsl indicator light blinking that means there is no adsl signal in my phone line still after jumpering is done. Nobody has contacted or visited my house about the adsl connection yet.Already one month is passed but When I will get my connection active ??
After 14th all new connection works are pending. Now BTCL is working on server software. It was emergengy, important and essential. We are sorry for that. It was announced before .

Qubee Doubled their speed 512 now 850tk ….BTCL when u will that though bandwidth price decreased and will another step taking this year to reduce the Bandwidth tariff …
Please look up another point. Others use fair uses policy. What is that? If your download one our continuously, next our you get nothing. Why these fair uses policy? No, fair answer. BTCL is solid. They have no such conditions. Thanks BTCL.
QUBEE doesn’t practically have any fair usage policy. I have a friend who is using QUBEE 512kbps Sky package and he downloaded >100GB on a month without any problem.
Banglalion is different though. IMO, they are one of the worst ISP in Bangladesh.
No, I got 50% upload on BTCL. However, BCube website says that upload speed is 25% of the download speed.
And I got some new feedbacks from qubee user after the doubled speed. They are saying that qubee now has applied “fair usage policy”. They gets half of their speed when they download too much.
And according to qubee customer care, they do limit the bandwidth when someone uses it too much. This effect wears off after 2hour if the user uses fairly afterwards.
Govt has lot of unutilized bw….
keeping bw as it is making bcube service popular…
i think this can be a marketing strategy…
after getting a large subscriber base… bw limit would be more effective….people wont mind…
and then reduce the price for customers….

এই নম্বরটিতে বড় রকমের ঘাপলা করে রেখেছে Emem Systems. কিভাবে/কেন করেছে তা জানি না তবে এখন আমার Modem এ ADSL এর LED জ্বলছে না।
আমি এই নম্বরে BCube Infinity – 512 এর জন্য আবেদন করেছিলাম ফেব্রুয়ারী মাসে। ফেব্রুয়ারী মাসের ১৫ তারিখের দিকে আমার Connection দেওয়া হল BCube Infinity – 256. আমি ESL এ ফোন করে জানতে চাইলাম কেন আমাকে ২৫৬ দেওয়া হয়েছে; সেখান থেকে বলা হল যে তারা ভুল করে ২৫৬ দিয়ে দিয়েছে এবং আমাকে জানানো হল যে মার্চ মাসের ১ তারিখ থেকে ৫১২ করে দেওয়া হবে। আমি মার্চ মাসের ১ তারিখ পর্যন্ত অপেক্ষা করলাম কিন্তু ১ তারিখে ESL এ ফোন করে জানতে পারলাম তারা এটা ৫১২ করে নাই। আমাকে বলল ২০ তারিখের মধ্যে Migration এর আবেদন করতে। করলাম, এবং এপ্রিল এর ১ তারিখ থেকে ৫১২ ব্যবহার করা শুরু করলাম।
হঠাট ২ দিন আগে আমার Connection Disconnect হয়ে গেল। Modem এ দেখলাম ADSL এর LED জ্বলে না। সম্ভমত আমার ADSL বন্ধ করে দেওয়া হয়েছে। উল্লেখ্য যে, ফেব্রুয়ারী এবং মার্চ মাসের ADSL Charge আমার Phone Bill এ অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা হয় নি।

ADSL will work fine, if you connect from Mohanagor or Bonosree Exchange. Your no should be 7281xxx, 7282xxx, 7287xxx, 7288xxx, 8270 or 8399xxx. ADSL will not work properly on 83xxxx (except 8399xxx), 93xxxx (Moghbazar Exchange) due to long distance. Thanks.

FTTH (Fiber to the Home) connection is still under development work. It will be available. For the time being, you can take dedicated 10mbps connection. But that will cost a lot. Current price is probably BDT 12,000 per mbps.

I’m took BTCL phone line in last December & using ADSL connection since January .
My phone no is – 761638 .
The Package I’m using is Bcube Infinity-256 .
The line was great for about 2 weeks & then random disconnection begins , I contacted the Local BTCL office & they even changed the cable like 3 times , checked through their exchange but still I have the same random disconnection problem .
& they send the lineman to check & there was noise in the line & the lineman changed something in in the cabinet as he refereed “vertical change” then the line became noise free & the line was fine a few days
after that I was able to use the net a few days uninterrupted but its back again , so i guess the problem remains .
& the more strange thing is when i took the line my average ping was 181ms on google/yahoo now after the random dc & cable changes & stuff my normal ping is 300ms+ & randomly it goes even higher about 600ms .
I talked about this with the local BTCL office peoples but they seem to be not really understanding the problem .
All they say is we can’t find problem & here I am still getting randomly disconnected .

Finaly I google’d about the snr & attenuation & found that 6 or bellow snr means the line will most likely suffer from frequent disconnection problem But I don’t have any electrical ware near my adsl cable , so why is my snr so low ?
& about attenuation , I found out that 20 or bellow is outstanding so I guess its the snr thats causing the dc problem .
Could someone help me with this , how can I get good snr value ? how can i fix this dc problem ?

Unfortunately due to the large number of users in Dhaka, your SNR will seldom rise to above 7. Try setting your modem to G.Lite mode and see if this helps with the disconnections.
SNM becomes low due to signal distortions and surrounding interferences and is caused frequent disconnection. Pls check your splitter connection, avoid house wiring (i,e, connect it from direct drop wire), avoid joint at drop wire. To avoid interference drop wire should not pass near or over power transformer, should not be coil at light or power line post. Your adsl is perfect up to mdf. Thanks.
My connection is off from 20 march. Talk 2 emem system more than 20 times. Worse service i have ever seen. They even dont know whats the problem. Almost 1 month passed but no solution. My father is in Education Ministry n frnd of BTCL Chairman. I request him 2 inform the poor condition of emem system.

I am really surprised to know that my package expired. How can it happen!!! I paid on 12.03.2011 whereas my expiry date might be 18.03.2011 or later.
Anyways, please active my line as soon as possible and inform me expiry date. My connection (pre-paid night 1MB package) period starts from when I get new password, right? I am again informing you that my connection still not active. I am not able to use ADSL internet.

BTCL Sucks. I have got my connection for four months now and within these four months my connection was down at least for 30 times and each time for at leas ten days I have to wait to have them come and fix it. My no. is 840 1929. Bshundhara R/A.
30 times down x 10 days each = 300 days down out of 4×30=120 days!!
Anyways, from your comment, it is clear that the problem was your phone line being dead. How sad it may be, if you can persuade the line man, it’ll be fixed much faster.
On the other hand, I took BTCL ADSL after getting fed up with frequent net down/disconnection and sucky speeds. BTCL ADSL wins in these matters, hands down!
I don’t know how you got the connection but BTCL does not give ADSL connection in Bashundhara. I think your connection is from Gulshan Exchange so the distance between you and exchange is about 6km. ADSL connection does not work properly even in 3km distance.
I don’t know if BTCL have an exchange in Bashundhara. If they have, then you may contact them to get your connection from Bashundhara Exchange. Your problem will be solved then.
আফতাবের ডায়াল আপে কি প্রতি মিনিটে বিটিসিএল এর ৩০ পয়সা বিলও হয়? ডায়াল আপ ইন্টারনেট বা সারা দেশে ভয়েস কল, যে কোন ক্ষেত্রেই বিটিসিএল ৩০ পয়সা/মিনিট নিতেছে। আর ডায়াল আপ মডেমের স্পিড তো ৫৬ কেবিপিএস হয়, তাইলে ৪০ কেবিপিএস পাইলে সেইটা ত ভালই, নাকি?
ADSL Broadband 128Kbps for 30daysX24hours=Tk500.00 only. So, actual cost for 40 hours is Tk28.00 (Tweenty Eight) only (500/720X40=28). Which is cheaper? It should be BTCL.

ব্যান্ডউইথ চার্জ ১৮০০০ টাকা থেকে ১২০০০ টাকা করা হয়েছিল প্রায় ৬ মাস আগে, কয়েকদিন আগে ১২০০০ থেকে ১০০০০ টাকা করা হয়েছে।
BTCL ইউজাররা কবে এই চার্জ অনুসারে বিল পরিশোধ করবে??

আমি চট্টগ্রাম এর বায়েজিদ বোস্তামী এলাকায় থাকি। আমি আপনাদের “infinty 1000″ প্যাকেজটি গত চার মাস ধরে ব্যবহার করছি।

গত ৩ দিন যাবত গুলশান , মগবাজার আর এমএম সিস্টেম কে জানিয়েও আমার ইন্টারনেট সচল হই নি , আজকে গুলশান exchange এর DE জানালেন আজকের মধ্যে লাইন ঠিক হযে যাবে কিন্তু হই নাই , ADSL connection অফ করা আছে মগবাজার অফিস থেকে ,বিল দেবার পর টেলিফোনে সংযোগ চালু হলেও ইন্টারনেট গত ১ সপ্তাহেও চালু হই নি , আমার প্রশ্ন হচ্ছে টেলিফোনে সংযোগ যখন বন্ধ করা হযেছিল তখন কি জানতেন না যে এতে ইন্টারনেট ও আছে , আবার মগবাজার অফিস থেকে বলছে গুলশান exchange থেকে মেমো না পাঠালে ইন্টারনেট চালু করা যাবে না ,গুলশান অফিস এ গেলে বলে মগবাজার অফিস এ যোগাযোগ করেন , আর EMEM সিস্টেম বলেছিল আজকে ১২ টার মধ্যে ঠিক হযে যাবে ,অবশ্য এটা রাত বারোটা কিনা জানি না, geting update from them literally difficult . মগবাজার অফিস থেকে এই ref নাম্বার টা দিল : P6/TD.NP/ADSL/2010-2011 8/5/11
যাদের সাথে কথা হযেছিল ৮৮২৪৯৩৫ এর এই সমস্যার বাপারে :

Mr,Mostofa (Moghbazar ADSL যার কাছ থেকে জানতে পারলাম যে এটা বন্ধ করা আছে ২২/০৬/2011)
আমার আসলে তেমন কোনো অভিযোগ নাই, তবে এধরনের সমসা হলে কার কাছে যেতে হবে অথবা কোথায় কল করতে হবে এটা যদি web এ পাবলিশ করেন তাহলে আমার মত নির্বধ customer যারা আছেন তাদের অনেক উপকার হই

My ADSL account has been disable from the Moghbazar exchange due to delayed bill payment (may be), my telephone is ok now but ADSL still not, moghbazar ADSL division informed me that they got a advice for disable this account from Gulshan exchange & with out getting further notice they unable to activate it again, after that gulshan exchange said : they have nothing to do this is depends on Moghbazar exchange. I also inform that to EMEM system and they said this is a vertical problem because they are not getting any signal from MDF (frustrated response) and from Gulshan MDF (Mr.Lokman) said : that connection from MDF is completely ok, and i think he is right because my phone is ok.So please let me know where is the solution for this issue, at least i expect minimum customer service.

I have been using BTCL 1000 since last July. Although I had some problem with connection and still am, I never faced any problem with billing. This April, my bill was 3600+. And for the month of May, it has gone up to 13000+. The bills were charged for internet usage. I do not stay home for at least 15 days in a month and my father, mother or wife do not even use the computer. So what happened?? How did I over shot my 25GB download limit when I have not even downloaded 10 GB…..

Internet BW rate Tk12000/- per Mbps per month. ADSL rate only Tk2200/- per Mbps per month (Unlimited) ; Less than one fifth. No contention, No sharing, No fair uses policy. But BTCL is trying to reduce the rate again. Very soon everybody will get the news. Thanks.

I cab’t understand this. If adsl is not full duplex, how does data transmit over it ? ADSL is asymmetric. Wimax is not next generation. LTE is future network. ADSL is more advance than Wimax. But Wimax has mobility.

ADSL2+ (ITU G.992.5) is full duplex.
Full duplex merely defines whether the technology can send and receive data at the same time, it has nothing to do with the number of wires. ADSL splits the line bandwidth into 2 separate copper cable. ADSL allows transmission in both directions simultaneously via the use of different frequency ranges. It is, by definition, full duplex. Though many people think that 2 wire cable is half duplex….
Basically in ADSL2+, half duplex or full duplex could depend on internet service provider (BTCL), half duplex can be received on a full duplex system . No doubt.

Preferred DNS is your preferred phone book.

BTCL does obtain its own DNS automatically but that “phone book” is not good enough. That’s why we use google’s DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) as preferred DNS and alternative DNS.
There are many public DNS service available. You can also try 4.2.2.1

I am using BTCL ADSL, Yesterday it was rainy day and I have never disconnected. Also the line quality didn’t effect during rain.
So far no complain about my connection. BTW I get 50-60 KB speed with 256kbps package! Also the ping is very fast than other ISPs

It depends. I have seen a lot of connections (including mine’s) getting frequent disconnection during the rain.

THE FOLLOWING RESULT:
emem’s PREVIOUS MODEM UTSTARCOM-VERY GOOD MODEM. THERE IS NO FREQUENT DISCONNECTION.
THEIR CURRENT MODEM HUWAWEI- BAD EXPEIENCE FREQUENT DISCONNECTION WITH THE SAME LINE.
WHY EMEM KEEPING THIS MODEM, OR SUPPLYING IT TO THE CUSTOMERS.

Is there any difference between two modems for snr margin and noise? Can you please check it? I am using Huwawei modem and in that modem properties it showed my noise is too high. I am thinking that maybe its vary on different modem.

Huawei is the worst modem available on market.
People should get TP-Link TD-8610 for 1900tk which is much better than Huawei at lower price.

TP-Link TD-8610 doesn’t have any IP Route, DHCP server, NAT, Firewall, Built in PPPoE, QoS, Port Mapping, UPnP, Security etc. facility.
Where Huawei has so many features, also you can make virtual server to host anything in your PC.

It totally depends on the bit rate.
1080p streams that are available on youtube are typically around 4-5mbps. So it is not possible to watch them live with 1mbps.

Dear BTCL,
1. Is the btcl connection we use a full duplex connection ? If not, what is the reason behind it ?
2. I contacted wimax providers, their connections are not full duplex too. Upload speed is one fourth of download speed. I tried to know the reason but they do not tell the actual reason. They just say they do not provide full duplex connection. Could you please let us know what is the mystery behind this hide and seek situation ?

According to BTCL’s terms of service, they give 25% of the download speed as upload speed.
But in reality, they give 50% of the download speed as upload speed.
I don’t know the exact reason for this. But as far as I know VOIP needs full duplex connection. Maybe BTCL is not giving same download and upload speed for this reason.

My btcl connection is being hampered for the last several days. 3 days back the connection wasnt there for 12 hours then the next day it was like internet was available for 2 hours then it went offline for 4 hours. And currently the internet is not there for the last 15 hours. The funniest thing is the adsl link is there no blinking but the connection isn’t. When i dial using the ppoe dialler it says connecting to wan miniport and then stayed there and this applies for the last several days. If the adsl link is there why cant i connect? I am from Shere Bangla Nagar Exchange btw.

Same problem here. I called EmEm in the morning. They told BTCL is working on their server and it will be okay by evening. But it is 7:40pm the line is not yet up.
They are doubling up the bandwidth so they are taking bit of time more !!

Hello Friends,
I was getting very good internet connection from BTCL. Therefore I suggested my cousin to take BTCL broadband connection who was looking for a better internet connection.
On April he bought a ADSL Modem + Router (TP Link TD W8950ND) from IDB Bhaban with BDT.3300.00. On 1st May he got call from Emem Systems. They notified that his connection is on. But, unfortunately there was no internet connectivity. He notified them and their engineer visited his place and checked wires, connection and so on. Later they told him that the connection can not be given in his house as the frequency is very low. At this circumstance they suggested him to cancel the connection. So on May 29th he canceled the connection. He invested a total of BDT.3700(modem+connection cost) and they are not going to refund it. Not only this he will be charged with two months bill, that is BDT.2070.00. At this circumstances it will be very great if any of you feel interested to buy the modem. He is ready to sell the modem at BDT.3000.00 with one year warranty. Interested persons please e-mail me at asif_8332@yahoo.com.

I don’t understand why internet connectivity would not work on your cousin’s phone line but perhaps you can post his telephone number here so that BTCL can check to find any solution for it.
I really feel sorry for him. I had to spend around 16,000tk when I first took my connection back in 2009. I would have died if something like that happened to me.

প্রথমত সব এলাকায় এডিএসএল নেই (www.bcube.net.bd > Service Area তে তালিকা পাওয়া যাবে), দ্বিতীয়ত এক্সচেঞ্জ থেকে দূরত্ব (ক্যাবল লেংথ) ৩ কিলোমিটারের বেশী হলে বা লাইনে নয়েজ থাকলে ঠিকমত কাজ করবে না। তামার তারের ব্যাস নিয়ে আলোচনা হচ্ছিল, তারের ব্যাস বেশী হলে বাধা (রেজিস্ট্যান্স) কম হবে। সেইজন্য সন্মানিত গ্রাহকদের প্রতি অনুরোধ, আপনারা মডেম কেনার আগে এমেম সিস্টেমসকে দিয়ে লাইন কন্ডিশন চেক করিয়ে নেন। এমেমের মডেম হলে সংযোগ কাজ না করলে তারা মডেম ফেরত নেবেন।

Attention please.
My Huawei modem has gone out of order. This noon I bought a Belkin wireless modem router at a cost of 6700 taka.
I could not make the ADSL stable. I ran back to the shop, they also could not make it. They gave me another piece, they tested it before giving. Everything was fine.
I came back to my office AGAIN I could not make ADSL stable.
I managed another Huawei modem from a friend, this one works perfect.
The belkin modem does not work at my office but it works in the shop at IDB. What can be the reason ?

Belkin modem is also good one. Your SNR is very poor. Check the following:
(1) Parallel line connection at line. ( Don’t allow)
(2)EM interference coming from surroundings. (Remove it)
(3) Joints at the drop wire. ( Replace it with help of local exchange)
(4) Last mile cable condition. ( Replace it with help of local exchange).
(5) Check bridge tap. (Avoid it- avoid house wiring)

Thanks for your pointed out hints. At # 3 & 4 you told do it with the help of local exchange. My question is are the exchanges helpful ? Why don’t you issue an order to local exchange so that they fix the problem.
Or, do you suggest the old style that I have to got o the exchange and keeping finding requesting someone there ?
On what official or technical basis they will do it for me ?
I am note sure about your processes ?
Can you please advise exactly what official process I have to follow to get it done. Please mention financial aspects also to get your service at best most possible condition.

If you have got connection through EmEm, just drop a complain to them. We send it to them and local exchange also.. If you got connection through local exchange , inform your problem to local DE. No financial aspect/subscription is involved in this process. Please think it easy. Thanks.

টেলিফোন লাইনের জন্য BTCL আমাকে যেই কপার কেবল দিয়েছে সেটার ভিতরের কপার বেশ চিকন! আরেকটা কপার ক্যাবল আছে যেটার ভিতরের কপারটা তুলনামূলক মোটা। তার চিকন হওয়ার জন্য কি নয়েজ বেশি হয়?
টেলিফোন লাইনের জন্য নরমাল ক্যাবল ইউজ না করে আমি কি Twisted Pair Cable ইউজ করতে পারব?

Resistance cable is inversely proportional to square of wire cross-section area. That is why thin cable has higher resistance. As a result line loss (dB loss) will be higher. Noise is another thing. Thanks.

Amr snr and attenuation same as before. But i think problem is not there. At night maybe user beshi hoe. sejonno problem. browsing speed ta slow hoe, but download manager e valo speed thake. karon download manager multiple thread (multiple connection to server) use kore, r tai speed thik thake.
ekhane obostha ta emon je user beshi howae raat e je pare jor kore usual speed dhore rakhe. Btcl should limit the connection per server or increase bandwidth to the server.

কেননা যারা যত টাকা দিয়ে যেই প্যাকেজ নিয়েছে তারা তাদের সাধ্যের মধ্যেই নিয়েছে।
এখন প্যাকেজের ট্যারিফ কমানো হলে আবার প্যাকেজ চেঞ্জ করার জন্য দৌড়াদৌড়ি করা লাগবে।

Those who are using 1MB line can get min of 2.5MB at the same price. I mean btcl has to at least double the bandwidth, after all it has to compete with private ISPs.
If BTCL’s bandwidth price is not below half of other ISPs people may not like to stay with BTCL since customer service of BTCL/EMEM is no way up to standard to attract.

এপ্রিল মাসের টেলিফোন বিলের সময়কাল হলো ২১ মার্চ থেকে ২০ এপ্রিল।
আর ঐ বিলে উল্লেখিত এডিএসএল এর সময়কাল হলো ০১ মার্চ থেকে ৩১ মার্চ।
একটু মিলিয়ে দেখুন, একমাস বেশী চার্জ করা হয়েছে কিনা। ধন্যবাদ।

Yeah, the period on that bill is from 21st March to 20th April.
I was disconnected on 28th March.
BTCL should have disconnected my connection on 20th April then.
But it’s not a big problem because I was extremely happy with the service of BTCL . Just hope that I won’t be charged again on May, 2011.

একটা চিন্তার বিষয়।
This is 1 O’clock at night. I run a small outsourcing office.
Sine 11pm the line is dead. I see the modem is stable.
I called EMEM Banani and Karwan Bazar numbers but nobody received. I need a piece of information to know if BTCL connection is okay. If I can know that line is okay then I can start finding problems at my end.
আমার মতো আরো অনেক অফিস আছে যারা রাতে কাজ করে। Unfortunately there is nobody to get an information on BTCL at night. Is there ? Finally I called Bangla-Lion and they are coming with an offer of 2MB connection.
BTCL এর পক্ষ থেকে এই ব্যাপারে কিছু শুনতে চাচ্ছি।

Yeas there were some sort of error from 10:30PM to 12:00PM. We wewe alert about those error. It is Okay from 00:01AM. You have 100% freedom to choose better operator. Thanks.

Noby replied so far. Today this is only 8:00pm. My line is dropping every 10 or 15 minutes. Over the period I managed some phone numbers to call. Those are:
9895710- Banani EMEM
8810408- Banani EMEM Ext 104
9130441- Karwan Bazar EMEM
I called these numbers several times but nobody receives.
Before I get my internet line troubleshooted I like you to troubleshoot the customer care first which is a very basic problem in our country.
Please let all of us know where and who to contact and why nobody receives those phones.

BTCL এর স্থানীয় ক্যাম্পগুলো কাস্টমার কেয়ারের কাজ করছে আপাতত। তবে এগুলো ২৪ ঘন্টা খোলা থাকে না। আর ক্যাবলএর কাজ রাত্রে করাও সহজ নয়। এমেম সিস্টেমস বা আরো যারা ভবিষ্যতে আউটসোর্সিং পার্টনার হিসেবে আসবেন, তারা ২৪/৭ সাপোর্টের বিষয়টি নিয়ে ভাবতে পারেন।

There is no reason to contact them directly because BTCL directors do visit this site and they are aware of the fact that they have to reduce the price. So contacting them on email is not going to change anything.
And BTCL has plans to reduce the price. But they are not doing it right now because they think this is not the right time to reduce the price.

Sorry for posting my problem again.I can’t connect through BTCL network connection.It is showing 691 error.Yesterday an employer from EMEM gave me the user name and password which even he couldn’t access.Today I called him and he told me that he passed the information to EMEM and will look on it soon,also he said that EMEM will call me and fix my problem today.I am still waiting for my proper user name and password.Kindly help me with my problem asap.Without that I can’t enjoy ADSL internet(I’m writing from my mobile internet)Thanks in advance.

আজ শনিবার আমার ADSL এর Internet সংযোগ দেবার কথা।EMEM কাওরানবাজার শাখা থেকে ‘ মিঃ রাশেদ’ মডেম লাগিয়ে দিয়ে গেছেন।কিন্তু তিনি যে ইউজারনেম এবং পাসওয়ার্ড সাথে করে লিখে এনেছেন তা তিনি নিজেই মেলাতে পারেননি,ঘন্টা খানেক চেষ্টার পর আমাকে পরে সঠিক ইউজারনেম এবং পাসওয়ার্ড জানিয়ে দেবেন বলে চলে গেছেন।এতদিন অপেক্ষার পর মডেম হাতে পেলাম,এখন আবার ইউজারনেম এবং পাসওয়ার্ড ভুল দিলে ব্যপারটি চরম বিরক্তিকর।

First of all Huawei (MT882a) is not a good quality modem in any sense, 1. its not a stand alone modem, i mean the performance of a Modem + Router is poor, as a modem its ok.
2.sometimes takes too long time to negotiate with the DSLAM & CPE, which is exception in Dlink,Netgear,Levelone,Zyzel etc modem.i think ,it is better to buy other modem which is available in the market in same price or less.

আপনার কথা ১০০ % সত্য , ঢাকার ব্যবহারকারীদের ও একই প্রবলেম শুনতে হই, সুতরাং এটার কোনো সদুত্তর আমি দিতে পারব না কিন্তু সত্যিকার অর্থে client end এ কাবলে প্রবলেম আর দূরত্বের বাপার ছাড়া আমি তেমন কিছুই দেখি না , আর কাবলে এর প্রবলেম থাকলে আপনে নিজেই দেখতে পারবেন , কিভাবে :
১. telephone এ কোনো noise আছে কিনা কানে দিয়া দেখেন , যদি না থাকে তাহলে আপনার কাবলে কোনো প্রবলেম নেই ,
২. যদি বার বার DSL বাতি অফ হযে যাই তাহলে দেখেন কাবলে কোনো জায়গায় জোড়া আছে কিনা, cable কোনো AC অথবা high voltage transformer এর পাশে দিয়া গেছে কিনা আপনার ফোন থেকে exchange এর দুরত্ব ৩/৪ কিলোমিটার এর বেশি হলেও এরকম প্রবলেম হতে পারে , এইসব বিষয় গুলো BTCL এর প্রকৌশলীগন আরো ভালো ভাবে বলতে পারবেন , after proper inspection

Low attenuation means loss of signal at line is less. High snr means your signal is good enough with respect to noise. May be less noise and less distortion in line.

When you have plan to reduce charges? Please give your answer. I think if BTCL doesn’t reduce their price from the next month, maybe they will lost some users. Please do not take more delay. We are all waiting to hear good news.
Have you any plan to update your ADSL infrastructure? I think Bcube used ADSL technology and they need to upgrade their technology to ADSL2 or ADSL2+ for better service. Am I right?

Its seem to me BTCL use ADSL2.
Now Bcube should reduce charges or increase bandwidth. Recently Wimax has increased their bandwidth 2x.

QUBEE তে কিন্তু বেশি ব্যবহার করলে 512 থেকে কমিয়ে 256 করে দেয়।
যদি আপনি Heavy Downloader না হয়ে থাকেন তাহলে এই মুহূর্তে QUBEE আপনার জন্য ভাল তবে BTCL এর দাম কমলে আবারো BTCL এই ফেরৎ আসতে চাবেন।

R any way Banglalion can not be compared with BTCL ADSL bandwidth and download limit.Bcz BTCL is giving the fastest ADSL broadband within the country, whic other so named Wimax companies can never give. And also the download limit is another matter, so called wimax companies will never or will not continue giving unlimited usage in near future, bcz it cost them more money to set up more machineries.
Also I must mention that, difference between ADSL2+ and wimax technology is very big. As mobile technology is wimax and ADSL2+ is the real broadband. And we can think back about Mobile companies, they used to give unlimited broadband, but they don’t provide it any more, bcz now a days they have set fair usage policy or 5GB. Wimax companies will also do very soon, as it cost them more money to give unlimited usage.

Your line is suffering from any one or more of the followings.
1. There is/are bare joint/joints in drop wire.
2.Splitter is faulty.
3.There is/are parallel line beyond splitter.
4.Cable is noisy or faulty.
5. There is EMI effect, comes from nearest Electric source or power transformer.

You need to fill up the migration form and submit it within 20th of the month. You connection will be migrated on the next month. For upgrading bandwidth, you won’t have to pay any charge. But you will have to pay some charge if you downgrade the bandwidth.
And BCube’s 512kbps limited package (1000tk) is much better than Banglalion’s unlimited package. Because Banglalion would disconnect your internet if you download something for 4hours.
And we have to wait patiently until BTCL reduces the bandwidth charge.

When you keep my problem in your observation? I posted my complain here again within 4days because of you didn’t reply.
My number is 7546865. I am using Bcube infinity-512 package. Now I got 128-256 at best. I have lots of problem. My line noise is 60dB and snr 6dB. I putted my complain here 8 times. My download speed go up and down to 5-25KBps most of the time.
Please i need a solution asap. I really got suffered in each day. Each month i paid for 512 but in average i got 256 only. I have that problem around 4-5 months long.

60dB Attenuation is too high. And if I know properly, it depends on the distance to the exchange. Here are some information regarding distance/attenuation:
1.0km = 13.81dB
1.5km = 20.7dB
2.0km = 27.6dB
2.5km = 34.5dB
3.0km = 41.4dB
3.5km = 48.3dB
4.0km = 56dB
4.5km = 62.1dB
5.0km = 69dB
So check the distance between you and your exchange. If it is somewhere >3.5km then you theoretically don’t have the capability to achieve maximum speed.

My BCube Express (1024 kbps) connection is lately behaving like a 256-384 kbps connection. Downloads are capped at 50 KB or even lower sometimes.
Has there been any funny mistake (i.e. cut the bandwidth by 50%) made by BCube in response to the other ISP’s “double” bonus offer? Just curious.
NOTE: My ADSL link is good enough (12-18 mbps with almost no error).

Are you sure , your local loop is capable enough to transmit 1Mbps line? Are you sure there is no bridge tap in last mile? Are you sure there is no EMI in last mile or customer premises? I am sure BTCL never make fun with customer. If your line is fine, you should get actual speed. We keep your problem under observation. Thanks.

Do you have any plan to provide the same/similar service (shared bandwidth) through ethernet or other reliable mediums?
I don’t think I can continue to use your ADSL service any more with so many variables affecting the service quality, despite investing quite a bit (money, time and labour) on ADSL hardware and land-line connection.

If you have your modem connected to your PC then go your modem settings (192.168.2.1) and search. I don’t remember where that is. There should be a chart where you will find a lot of ADSL statistics including SnR, Attenuation etc.

Hello BTCL,
My number is 7546865. I am using Bcube infinity-512 package. I have lots of problem. My line noise is 60dB and snr 6dB.
I putted my complain here 8 times. Once btcl engineer came and checked my line. They said all stuff in my end were fine, but in my area btcl infrastructure have little problem and they will fixed it soon. But after a month i have still same noise and snr. Now I have frequent disconnect problem and also my speed is not reliable. My download speed go up and down to 5-25kBps most of the time.
Please i need a solution asap. Each month i paid for 512 but in average i got 256 only. BTCL should understand that we are purchasing service and also it is not the way to satisfy your customer. I have that problem around 4-5 months long.
BTW, BTCL should reduce their charge asap. Its have been long time that BTCL said they will reduce the charge very soon. A new month came but we have no good news from BTCL yet.

I have been using bcube for the last 18 months. My UTSTARCOM is malfunctioning for the last couple of days. So i bought a TP-link ADSL2+ Modem Router W8950ND. I entered the following information in the quick setup. but it is not working.
WAN Connection Type: PPPoE
VPI [0-255]: 0
VCI [32-65535]: 35
I’m keeping the username and password blank as i never needed them to connect using my previous modem. Can anyone tell me how i can activate my new modem?

You need to fill the username and pass. Ask EMEM Systems if you have forgotten your username and password. Password is probably your phone number.

সকল আইএস প্রস ব্রডব্যান্ড ব্যবহারকারীদের জন্য বলছি-
খুব শীঘ্রই তারা ৩ এমবিপিএস পর্যন্ত লাইন দিতে যাচ্ছে। আর ২৫৬ কেবিপিএস এর নিচে কোনো লাইন থাকবে না। ৫০০ টাকাতেই ২৫৬ কেবিপিএস আর ২ হাজার টাকার মধ্যেই ২ এমবিপিএস পাওয়া যাবে বলে ধারণা করা যাচ্ছে। তবে এটা আপনি কোন রিসেলারের কাছ থেকে লাইন নিবেন তার উপর নির্ভর করছে। আর হ্যা সব প্যাকেজই আগের মতোই আনলিমিটেড।
আর পুরো ব্রডব্যান্ড ব্যবসাই হঠাত করে ভয়ানক করে চাপে পড়ে গেছে। কেননা সাম্প্রতিক কালে কিউবি এবং বাংলালায়ন উভয়েরই নেটওয়ার্ক অনেক ভালো হয়ে গেছে এবং গতিও বেড়ে গেছে

Qubee is limiting speed (Fair Usage Policy) after increasing bandwidth and thus many people can not download with full speed. I have seen a few Qubee users willing to switch to BTCL (as BTCL does not have any rules like this) after BTCL reduces their price. I think BTCL should not take any more time to reduce the prices.

বিটিসিএলের গ্রাহকগণ অনেক সময় অভিযোগ করেন যে তারা সময়মত টেলিফোন বিল পান না। বাংলাদেশ এর মত ঘনবসতি পূর্ণ দেশে ডাক/কুরিয়ার অথবা লোক মারফত ফোন গ্রাহকদের হাতে বিল পৌঁছান শতভাগ নিশ্চিত করা সত্যিই একটি চ্যালেঞ্জ, আর বিটিসিএলের মত সরকারি প্রতিষ্ঠানের জন্য তো তা আরও বড় চ্যালেঞ্জ। এখানে প্রতিষ্ঠান হিসেবে বিটিসিএলের যেমন ঘাটতি আছে তেমনি আছে গ্রাহকদের সচেতনতা ও প্রযুক্তি মনস্কতার অভাব। নাহলে বিটিসিএলের ওয়েব সাইট থেকে ফোন বিল নামানোর সুযোগ থাকা স্বত্তেও এটি করছেন ক’জনা ?
এ’ব্যাপারে একটি বিকল্প বিটিসিএল ভেবে দেখতে পারে,
• বিল পেমেন্ট করতে গ্রাহক কে তো ব্যাংক এ যেতেই হয়। তো ব্যাংক থেকেই বিল প্রিন্ট করে গ্রাহক তা পেমেন্ট করে নিজের কপিটি নিয়ে নেবেন। গ্রাহক কে এ সুবিধা দেয়ার জন্য বিটিসিএলের পক্ষ থেকে ব্যাংক গুলোকে নির্দেশনা দেয়া থাকবে।
• বিটিসিএল এর কাজ হবে সব গ্রাহক কে জানিয়ে দেয়া যে মাসের ৭ থেকে ১২ তারিখের মধ্যে গ্রাহককে প্রয়োজনে ব্যাংক থেকে বিলের প্রিন্ট নিয়ে পেমেন্ট করতে হবে। তাহলে গ্রাহকের বিল না পাওয়ার অজুহাতে বিটিসিএলের রাজস্ব ও অনাদায়ী থাকবে না। এ’টিও অবশ্য গ্রাহকের সচেতনতার উপর নির্ভরশীল। তবে গ্রাহকের উপর আস্থা রেখে তাকে সচেতন করে তলার দায়িত্ব তো কাউকে নিতেই হবে।

I have been using bcube premium for more than years and last month(March) I terminated the connection for frequent disconnection problem. Then I applied again for a new connection at the beginning of month april with the same phone line. When I called emem systems they said line Jumpering has been done at 20th april but I still find my adsl indicator light blinking that means there is no adsl signal in my phone line still after jumpering is done. Nobody has contacted or visited my house about the adsl connection yet.Already one month is passed but When I will get my connection active ??

QUBEE doesn’t practically have any fair usage policy. I have a friend who is using QUBEE 512kbps Sky package and he downloaded >100GB on a month without any problem.
Banglalion is different though. IMO, they are one of the worst ISP in Bangladesh.

No, I got 50% upload on BTCL. However, BCube website says that upload speed is 25% of the download speed.
And I got some new feedbacks from qubee user after the doubled speed. They are saying that qubee now has applied “fair usage policy”. They gets half of their speed when they download too much.
And according to qubee customer care, they do limit the bandwidth when someone uses it too much. This effect wears off after 2hour if the user uses fairly afterwards.

আমার এই নাম্বার টিতে 7287262 এত দিন খুব ভালো ইন্টারনেট কানেকশন ছিল ১মেগা লাইন, কিন্তু কিছুদিন আগে ফোন এর dial tone চলে গেলে আমি কমপ্লেন দেই , সম্পূর্ণ তার পরিবর্তন করার ফলে এখন Dial Tone এবং ফোন সবকিছুই ঠিক আছে কিন্তু ADSL LED কিছুক্ষণ পর পর অফ হযে যায় , যতক্ষণ জলে থাকে ততক্ষণ স্পীড ভালো থাকে , আমার Exchange বনশ্রী

এই নম্বরটিতে বড় রকমের ঘাপলা করে রেখেছে Emem Systems. কিভাবে/কেন করেছে তা জানি না তবে এখন আমার Modem এ ADSL এর LED জ্বলছে না।
আমি এই নম্বরে BCube Infinity – 512 এর জন্য আবেদন করেছিলাম ফেব্রুয়ারী মাসে। ফেব্রুয়ারী মাসের ১৫ তারিখের দিকে আমার Connection দেওয়া হল BCube Infinity – 256. আমি ESL এ ফোন করে জানতে চাইলাম কেন আমাকে ২৫৬ দেওয়া হয়েছে; সেখান থেকে বলা হল যে তারা ভুল করে ২৫৬ দিয়ে দিয়েছে এবং আমাকে জানানো হল যে মার্চ মাসের ১ তারিখ থেকে ৫১২ করে দেওয়া হবে। আমি মার্চ মাসের ১ তারিখ পর্যন্ত অপেক্ষা করলাম কিন্তু ১ তারিখে ESL এ ফোন করে জানতে পারলাম তারা এটা ৫১২ করে নাই। আমাকে বলল ২০ তারিখের মধ্যে Migration এর আবেদন করতে। করলাম, এবং এপ্রিল এর ১ তারিখ থেকে ৫১২ ব্যবহার করা শুরু করলাম।
হঠাট ২ দিন আগে আমার Connection Disconnect হয়ে গেল। Modem এ দেখলাম ADSL এর LED জ্বলে না। সম্ভমত আমার ADSL বন্ধ করে দেওয়া হয়েছে। উল্লেখ্য যে, ফেব্রুয়ারী এবং মার্চ মাসের ADSL Charge আমার Phone Bill এ অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা হয় নি।

ADSL will work fine, if you connect from Mohanagor or Bonosree Exchange. Your no should be 7281xxx, 7282xxx, 7287xxx, 7288xxx, 8270 or 8399xxx. ADSL will not work properly on 83xxxx (except 8399xxx), 93xxxx (Moghbazar Exchange) due to long distance. Thanks.

আমি আজকে বিটিসিএল এর গুলশান অফিস এ গেলাম নতুন কানেকশেন নেবার জন্যে। উনারা বললেন যে অ্যাপ্লিকেশন নেবেন ঠিকই, কিন্তু কানেকশেন কবে দেয়া যাবে সেটা নিশ্চিত নয়। নিকেতন ডি ব্লক এ কী যেন সমসসা আছে। আমি অ্যাপ্লিকেশন দিয়ে এলাম। আমার বিটিসিএল এর কানেকশেন নেবার একমাত্র কারণ হচ্ছে BCube এর এডিএসএল ইন্টারনেট ব্যাবহার করা। দয়া করে জানাবেন আমার কী করনীয়।

TP Link’s ADSL modem is available in IDB at 1,900tk.
I have used both Huawei and TP-Link’s modem. TP-Link is better than Huawei.

FTTH (Fiber to the Home) connection is still under development work. It will be available. For the time being, you can take dedicated 10mbps connection. But that will cost a lot. Current price is probably BDT 12,000 per mbps.

Because it’s probably under a firewall that is dropping all the ICMP packets (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ping).

I’m took BTCL phone line in last December & using ADSL connection since January .
My phone no is – 761638 .
The Package I’m using is Bcube Infinity-256 .
The line was great for about 2 weeks & then random disconnection begins , I contacted the Local BTCL office & they even changed the cable like 3 times , checked through their exchange but still I have the same random disconnection problem .
& they send the lineman to check & there was noise in the line & the lineman changed something in in the cabinet as he refereed “vertical change” then the line became noise free & the line was fine a few days
after that I was able to use the net a few days uninterrupted but its back again , so i guess the problem remains .
& the more strange thing is when i took the line my average ping was 181ms on google/yahoo now after the random dc & cable changes & stuff my normal ping is 300ms+ & randomly it goes even higher about 600ms .
I talked about this with the local BTCL office peoples but they seem to be not really understanding the problem .
All they say is we can’t find problem & here I am still getting randomly disconnected .

Finaly I google’d about the snr & attenuation & found that 6 or bellow snr means the line will most likely suffer from frequent disconnection problem But I don’t have any electrical ware near my adsl cable , so why is my snr so low ?
& about attenuation , I found out that 20 or bellow is outstanding so I guess its the snr thats causing the dc problem .
Could someone help me with this , how can I get good snr value ? how can i fix this dc problem ?

Unfortunately due to the large number of users in Dhaka, your SNR will seldom rise to above 7. Try setting your modem to G.Lite mode and see if this helps with the disconnections.

If your line is perfect9 (No distortion, no excess loss), you should get 26-30 KB speed.

You are supposed to get around 30KBps always. But to be honest, I have used Bcube Infinity 256 in two places and I got ~50KBps on both.

SNM becomes low due to signal distortions and surrounding interferences and is caused frequent disconnection. Pls check your splitter connection, avoid house wiring (i,e, connect it from direct drop wire), avoid joint at drop wire. To avoid interference drop wire should not pass near or over power transformer, should not be coil at light or power line post. Your adsl is perfect up to mdf. Thanks.

My connection is off from 20 march. Talk 2 emem system more than 20 times. Worse service i have ever seen. They even dont know whats the problem. Almost 1 month passed but no solution. My father is in Education Ministry n frnd of BTCL Chairman. I request him 2 inform the poor condition of emem system.

Thank you for the reply. But sorry to say that, my connection is still inactive ”User name and password invalid”. The new user name and password not working.
I am really surprised to know that my package expired. How can it happen!!! I paid on 12.03.2011 whereas my expiry date might be 18.03.2011 or later.
Anyways, please active my line as soon as possible and inform me expiry date. My connection (pre-paid night 1MB package) period starts from when I get new password, right? I am again informing you that my connection still not active. I am not able to use ADSL internet.

BTCL Sucks. I have got my connection for four months now and within these four months my connection was down at least for 30 times and each time for at leas ten days I have to wait to have them come and fix it. My no. is 840 1929. Bshundhara R/A.

I have used BTCL ADSL connection for 2years and within this two years, I probably had a total down time of about 2days.
Therefore “BTCL Sucks” is not a general statement. For some people, it rocks.

30 times down x 10 days each = 300 days down out of 4×30=120 days!!
Anyways, from your comment, it is clear that the problem was your phone line being dead. How sad it may be, if you can persuade the line man, it’ll be fixed much faster.
On the other hand, I took BTCL ADSL after getting fed up with frequent net down/disconnection and sucky speeds. BTCL ADSL wins in these matters, hands down!

I don’t know how you got the connection but BTCL does not give ADSL connection in Bashundhara. I think your connection is from Gulshan Exchange so the distance between you and exchange is about 6km. ADSL connection does not work properly even in 3km distance.
I don’t know if BTCL have an exchange in Bashundhara. If they have, then you may contact them to get your connection from Bashundhara Exchange. Your problem will be solved then.

Do you have dial tone in your phone?
If so, is it clear or there is noise?
If not, complain to local telephone complain camp.

আফতাবের ডায়াল আপে কি প্রতি মিনিটে বিটিসিএল এর ৩০ পয়সা বিলও হয়? ডায়াল আপ ইন্টারনেট বা সারা দেশে ভয়েস কল, যে কোন ক্ষেত্রেই বিটিসিএল ৩০ পয়সা/মিনিট নিতেছে। আর ডায়াল আপ মডেমের স্পিড তো ৫৬ কেবিপিএস হয়, তাইলে ৪০ কেবিপিএস পাইলে সেইটা ত ভালই, নাকি?

ADSL Broadband 128Kbps for 30daysX24hours=Tk500.00 only. So, actual cost for 40 hours is Tk28.00 (Tweenty Eight) only (500/720X40=28). Which is cheaper? It should be BTCL.

Request you to use broadband. Always on, unlimited, unconditional download, 128 kbps speed- monthly subscription is only 500.00 Taka.
